Jessica Martin’s set design is strong; a plausible aesthetic for a Boer War encampment. Lloyd Bradfors Syke crikey.com.au

This is a spartan production, performed on a bare wood set, resembling a rough 19th century military barracks. Troy Lennon The Daily Telegraph.

Jessica Martin’s effective curved set design uses huge wooden palings to create a looming sense of prison and courtmartial, reminding us that individuals are expendable when we come up against the right of authority to determine truth. Cathy Hunt, Time out Sydney

The staging benefits from the austere set and the authenticity of the uniforms and military accoutrements of the period. Carol Wimme, Stagewhisers.

Jessica Martin’s effective curved set design uses huge wooden palings to create a looming sense of prison and court-martial, reminding us that individuals are expendable when we come up against the right of authority to determine truth.

On a towering wooden slatted set design with wooden tables and chairs, giving the impression of a hastily convened field court room, with the actors dressed in authentic looking uniform/ costumes (Set and Costume Design, Jessica Sinclair Martin), the style of production, with the actors seated chorus like along back benches, aims for court room pragmatism and efficiency

The stage design is absolutely spot on. Jessica Sinclair Martin’s interpretation of an Irish pub is excellent, down to the tiniest details, including a working beer tap. Sandra Bowden - Oz Baby boomers

The set is beautifully and authentically designed by Jessica Sinclair Martin. Mark Pigott - Sydney Arts Guide

Cast are nicely housed on Jessica Sinclair Martin’s comfy set of a village pub that really binds these locals. Martin Portus - stage whispers

The set design is excellent; Jessica Sinclair pub comes complete with ceiling beams, whitewashed walls, a working beer tap and a convincing fake fireplace. Joan Beal - Arts hub

Jessica Sinclair Martin’s naturalistic set is warm and inviting with its whitewashed walls, lit fire and dark wooden beams. You can almost smell the peat smoke and the cosiness emphasises what you can’t see but imagine – the howling wind forever at the door. Veronica Hannon - SX Gay news

The warm pub with a low-ish room and fire burning, created by set designer Jessica Sinclair Martin, managed to be sufficiently understated and quietly cozy enough to be effective and even inviting. Cassie Tongue - Aussie theatre
