Excellence in Academics

Every school year, Buford High School seniors are recognized for their hard work and dedication to excellence. On May 11, 2022, seniors of the Class of 2022 were honored for their achievements during the annual Awards Night ceremony at the Performing Arts Center. The following is the script from that event.

2022 Departmental Awards

At this time we will present Departmental Awards to students who have either demonstrated excellence in a particular subject over four years or who have demonstrated excellence while completing a Career Tech or Fine Arts Pathway. A faculty representative from each department or area of study will come forward to make each presentation.

This year’s recipient of the Instrumental Music Award is an amazing young musician who has been a musical leader in the classroom and who has made those around her better musicians simply by her presence. Beyond that, she has one of the kindest hearts; students universally talk about her as an example of positive leadership and many students list her as the best leader they’ve ever had. The Choral Music Award is being presented to a singer who has been an integral part of our State Championship Literary Team for two years as Boys Soloist and a member of the Quartet. He attended Governor’s Honors as a vocalist in 2021 and participated in All-State Chorus.
