I am a highly creative and meticulous designer with a passion for all aspects of architecture and multidisciplinary design. I am driven by the creation of unique architecture and objects, which evoke and engage.
4
Recently graduating in Interior Architecture and Design, I am confident in my ability to deliver diverse design solutions to spaces, with considerate integration within a building and the wider surroundings. I strongly believe in the re-use of existing structures, in all shapes and forms, respecting and preserving the architectural history, while breathing new life into them.

SPECTRAL PRODUCTIONS/ SEPT-OCT 2014 Working in the art department along side architects and designers to develop and design large scale sets for a science fiction futuristic film. My role was to develop initial ideas from the director and production designer, research into sciences to create substance in the design, and produce full technical drawings for construction. The work was fast pace with short time scales. Working closely with the construction team, located in the studios on site, enabled me to follow the assembly of the design.

The task was to create a miniature of a Tatrapan- A military armoured vehicle to 1:4 scale. I surveyed a full size Tatrapan which was drawn up. I then devised a comprehensive construction method, detailing steel plates which had to be laser cut and welded together by fabricators, by following a full set of technical instructions which I produced. This short project forced me to learn about mechanical skills in fabricating steel work and the details I had to consider when designing the construction of the miniature.

Point 206 is a map institute that will redefine cartography, exposing the broad spectrum of the discipline. The scheme will set itself apart from current orthodox organisations by highlighting an array of creative mapping methods, captivating our society with the beauty of the maps. The rebirth is set to begin at the edge of London’s creative heartland, Exhibition Road, in the former underground station Brompton Road. The philosophy behind its revival is to reconnect the bond between the arts and sciences of map-making.

The former underground station has poor natural lighting conditions due to it being attached to surrounding structures. An aim of the remodel is to draw light into the building to reach the deep underground levels.

THE REVIVAL FINAL DESIGN
The buildings interior has been completely removed and only the existing exterior walls remain. A fair-faced concrete form encases the interior of the building. This structure is separate to the existing walls, and a point is made of this. Shadow gaps are left between the original walls which have been plaster boarded and coloured white to contrast

The new staircase and lift are key design features of the above ground space, and the above ground levels connect with walkways providing voids in the building right up to the new roof extension.

Interior perspective of print studio space, fair-faced concrete walls manipulate the south sun light. White acrylic surfaces with black mild steel finishes.
INTERIOR PERSPECTIVE FROM GROUND LEVEL Visual perspective from ground floor, the interior design towers over spectators referring to our urban environments. Natural light driven in through the south facing skylight filters into the building, which is manipulated by the modular concrete forms. The South sun has the most contrasting light during the day, providing dramatic changes of atmosphere within the building.
15
The underground chambers will house the main spectacle at 206 Brompton Road, offering a unique collection of cartographic pieces that present a range of styles and approaches. The lift located in the small cylindrical shaft will provide the only access to the site, by a new lift and an existing spiral staircase.
16
The lift will be automatically controlled taking visitors on a journey to the unknown, deep in the underground chambers .
SECTION AA Focusing on the variety of light within the building. As natural daylight filters down an existing lift shaft, artificial lighting guides visitors through the depths of the dark underground.

MODULAR GRID I N S TA L L AT I O N An installation made from card will showcase the last two collections in the underground, ‘New Babylon’ and ‘Radical Cartography’. This section celebrates the visionary ideas of architects reinterpreting our urban surrounding.
ETHEREAL MATERIALS
The concepts behind the design of the card installation lie within the cartographic work it displays. The collection exhibits the work of fore-fronting architects who re-imagined our cities of the future, with bold seductive proposals. Known as ‘paper architects’ their crazy ideas were never meant for reality but instead to feed our imagination. The ethereal materiality of this installation plays reference to this idea, made solely from card it is a temporary structure, not built to last. As a triangular grid formation the installation can be form, deconstruction and developed over time, constantly evolving, like the mapped visionary cities its displays.

COMPREHENSIVE DESIGN REPORT YEAR 3 RESEARCH AND FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR FINAL MAJOR PROJECT
To assist in the design process intensive research into the historical and cultural value of the subject. Meticulous analysis of the building and site history, its current state and future development lead to a comprehensive project. Environmental analysis imposed possible strategic routes for buildings efficiency.

SUBMERGED YEAR 3 RSA/ STUDENT DESIGN AWARD A self determined brief to engage the public in the value of water. In response I developed my own brief that focused on the Earth’s forever moving oceans and the vast amount of power they hold.
[ ]
‘Submerged’ is set in the iconic River Thames, east of Tower Bridge- towards the Docklands. The pre-cast concrete structure sits deep into the Thames bed, taking the height of the river right up to the top of the side bank wall.
INVITE THE CYCLE INTO THE CITY
28
The final design was a concrete architectural pocket park sunken in the River Thames with the aim to reconnect the urban-scape back to the natural tidal cycle of our oceans. The public feature would harness energy from the Thames tidal current with hydroelectric turbines, while engaging the city-goers through the creative arts-performance and poetry. Instead of blocking the rising and falling of the river the site is designed to fully accept flooding, therefore at high tides only certain levels are accessible, this would educate users about the tidal cycle.

VOIDS Conceptual inspiration was found in the process of radio transmission. Electromagnetic radiation travel through free space. Voids. Forms later developed from the individual details of the Mill’s water wheel.
DESIGN PROPOSAL
38
The design saw the Mill stripped of its interior walls, the conservation of its existing red brick, roof and historical water wheel. A new contrasting structure is to be inserted inside the Mill. A repeated concrete symmetrical form stands by itself leaving space between the existing building. New entrances have been created through existing window openings in the red brick walls. These access points are the only parts where the new intersect with the old. When this occurs a point is made by the change of materiality. Black steel is applied to bridge the connection between the existing red brick and the new pre-cast concrete structure.
