HORIZEN The horizon is not only the point where the earth’s surface and sky appear to meet, it is also the defining end point of a person’s perception and knowledge. However, I believe that people should not believe that they have a definite and limited horizon. A horizon to me has the meaning of ever-evolving and of the endless possibilities that the future can offer us. If you dream larger than your dreams, your wish will not fall far behind. That is the principle belief behind ‘HORIZEN’. The incorporation of the word Zen is inspired by the Mahayana Buddhists. In Mahayan Buddhism, being Zen is the definition of pure enlightenment of the soul, body and mind. This allows us to lead a peaceful life. In a world where we are bombarded with social pressures from the media, ever-changing technologies and the increased competition in the work place, it is vital that young, female professionals seek to lead a life of fulfillment by reaching past their horizons to achieve enlightenment. This portfolio of work will take you through a series of collections that showcase different mediums of techniques reflecting the beliefs behind HORIZEN.

As we sat around the kitchen, eyes pensive and unknowing, I started to feel uneasy about the next few months of stress that I would have to endure. That she too would have to endure for me.. She suddenly was behind me, leaning down, whispering in my ear a sentence so familiar yet very long forgotten.
glistening. As we watched the sun go down we were no longer scared or disheartened for the next day to come, but joyous that we knew we would be spending it and every other day in this world with each other.
I watched as she bolted out the door and I threw my head back and laughed almost falling off my seat as I pushed myself off from it. I followed her out the door, feeling a way which I had not felt for a long time... Alive again. She was already nearly half way up the hill when I had made it out of the door. I pressed on after her, not caring that my indoor shoes would soon become my outdoor shoes! We used to always chase each other up hills to see who could catch the sun setting the fastest. We had always been a competitive couple but this was a game long lost when the stresses of adulthood finally got the better of us. This was thrilling just as it was when I was a young man, I felt like a teenager again chasing after the woman I knew one day would be my wife... If I was to be lucky enough. I tripped over on a rock and slid a little down the hill. I looked up to see she was already at the top, the yellow sun shining behind. She took her dressing gown off to reveal that she wasn’t in the clothing I quite expected her to be in. The sun kissed her skin as she let her golden hair down and shook it in the breeze. She turned around to look at me, her frame almost becoming a silhouette from the brightness behind her. I could not quite make out her expression but I heard her giggle as she saw me gaping with awe from the muddy, grassy floor. She was a goddess, the deliverer of light and love. The sun was slowly escaping the day but seemed to linger on in the glow of her exterior, as the rays glittered off of her perfect being. As if the sun was revealing her uplifting soul to the entire world, as it shone from behind her creating gold, yellow and white beams around her silhouette. I ran up to meet her, and smiled as I took her hand and connected her soul with mine, both bathing in the spring sun eyes
