Reimagining Food Tourism: Connecting People and Nature through Food
This thesis explore how food acts as the bridge between people and nature. There are 3 main points of this concept, place making through food, using food to share knowledge, and using food to empower people.
Placemaking through Food
Create a tourist-friendly gathering place based on food experience in every phase of the food cycle. This project also hopes to create a local community sense of belonging towards the food hub and a remarkable space to revisit.
Using Food to Share Knowledge
By understanding that food is a powerful vehicle for storytelling, this project aims to create an architecture program that evokes people interest in food knowledge to create a more sustainable food security in the future.
This project breaks the business aspect of the food cycle to empower communities, especially local residents in the hinterland of Barelang. This project aims to create an inclusive social space using the motto “Food brings people together and allows us to stay connected” to live by.

Those features avoid the use of utilities by number of people to keep individual personal hygiene.
Each rooms also has a good open air circulation and vegetations to keep the air inside the room fresh, better than common kost-an room that usually lack of fresh air. One of the main feature of daKocan is a good management of space and storage to improve productivity.

Other Works: Covidtecture - Podkes
Covidtecture Competition by FACADE ITB 2020
Emergency Design Submission | Awarded Top 3
In collaboration with Kenny Sunjaya and George Michael
Podkes is a modular emergency hospital room. The name of Podkes came from the abbreviation of Pod Kesehatan which means health pod. COVID-19 Pandemic that currently happening on earth brought us to the importance of the medical unit for an emergency because we would never know when and how will the pandemic waves come to us. Most countries such as China, England, and Korea are able to build an emergency hospital in a very short time. Meanwhile in Indonesia, the government transformed a lodge into an emergency hospital and took longer time than the other country that made a new one.
Podkes serves a modular hospital room in case of an emergency. It can be stored into a small cart and when it necessary, it can be assembled into a 10 square meter hospital room, complete with bed and other utilities at once. That makes Podkes different than the other emergency hospital which separates the room and utilities. With Podkes, an emergency hospital can be built faster in a big quantity on a big hall or site in case of an emergency situation.
