DESIGN IDEA The idea behind this design is to contrast the original rectilinear geometry of the existing building with a new angular geometry that creates an interesting circulation. The angularity was also carried into different elementssuch as the walls, ceilings, and surfaces. This strategy helped with the design process and the creation of the spaces. Color neutral materials were used because of the space's constant change of users.
CIRCULATION
SITE Site is located in the GovernmentHills, one of San Antonio's historicdistrics. The existing building standsat the corner of New Braunfels +Carson Street. The building was originally constructed for retail purposesbuilt in three sections since the early 1900's.
