BUSAN Busan is the second-largest city in South Korea, a major international port and famous for its seafood and beaches. It shares the same latitude as Los Angeles and attracts film stars and movie moguls as host to the annual Busan International Film Festival. Busan’s landscape of pristine beaches, craggy islets and tall mountains certainly make a great backdrop for your next cruise adventure. Some places you can visit in Busan: Yongdusan Park is a beautiful oasis in the middle of this bustling city. With over 70 different species of trees this tranquil park is a favourite site for the people of Busan. The Jagalchi Fish Market, located on the harbour front, is one of the largest and busiest in all of Asia. The Busan Municipal Museum is home to ancient artifacts and exhibits that relate the history of Busan and the surrounding area. The grounds that surround the museum are a very nice place to enjoy a quiet stroll. The Gukje (International) Market has been in operation since the mid 1940’s. The market got its name from the foreign products that could often be found there. Today it is an area of over 1,400 shops and innumerable vendors offering everything from delicious street food to amazing jewellery. Taejongdae Park was created in an area to the south of the city. This beautiful park is a

romantic, forested setting high on cliffs overlooking the sea. The Tongnae Hot Springs are unique in that they are located in the middle of the city. While most hot springs are outside, these springs are inside the hotels of the Tongnae district. Beomeosa Temple is surrounded by forests that cover Mount Geumjeong in Busan. One of the largest temples in Korea, it was built in 678 AD during the period of the Silla Dynasty. The Busan Aquarium is a relatively new attraction in the city and has quickly become one of the most popular. The aquarium has over 40 saltwater and freshwater exhibits. The UN Memorial Cemetery is the final resting place for over 2,000 fallen soldiers representing 11 of the 22 nations that fought under the flag of the United Nations during the Korean War, 1950-1953. The land is a gift from the people of Korea as an eternal expression of their gratitude towards the men who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of Korea’s freedom. INCHEON Incheon, a bustling port 36km west of Seoul and has a great waterfront area with amusement rides, sushi shops, stores and ferries, as well as a very accessible Chinatown right opposite the Line 1 Incheon terminus. Come here for a great day where you can sample some different foods, visit some interesting sites or simply stroll along enjoying

JEJU ISLAND Formerly Cheju Island, Jeju is an island off the southern coast of South Korea, in the Korea Strait, southwest of Jeollanam-do Province, of which it was a part before it became a separate province in 1946. Its capital is the city of Jeju. Jeju Island is also known as the “Island of the Gods” and the island’s mixture of volcanic rock, frequent rains, and temperate climate, make it very similar to the Hawaiian Islands in the U.S. during the summer months. Jeju City- the capital and where you will arrive by ship. Most of the attractions on Jeju Island are outside of the city, so it’s definitely worth taking an organised shore excursion from this port of call. Some of the local attractions include: Folklore and Natural History Museum. It contains natural history of the island as well as relics, animals and plants that are found around the island. Jeju Education Museum shows the traditional culture and history of Jeju. Jeju Independence Museum. Chronicles the struggles of Cheju-do residents against the Japanese during the 20th Century. Jeju Teddy Bear Museum opened especially for the European collectors and is more exciting than ever with special “Teddy Bear” entertainment. Hallin Park is a 27.000m2 botanical garden including 2 caves. Manjanggul lava-tube cave, (Jeju North Coast). A 7km cave, only 1 km part of which can be accessed by the public, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Sunrise Peak - Pictures of where you will see everywhere in Jeju. Visit Botanic Garden “Yeomiji”. A big indoor botanic garden with halls of cacti, tropical fruits, flowers, water lilies, and much more. Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is one of the most famous waterfalls on Jeju Island. MOKPO Located on the tip of Korea’s southwestern coastline, Mokpo has a reputation as a small but important port city. The old town area around Mount Yudalsan is of particular interest to visitors, featuring architecture that dates back to the industrialization period of the early 1900s. On Culture Street, popular attractions include Gatbawi, a prominent natural monument, as well as a number of cultural experiences offered at the National Maritime Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Ceramic Livingware Museum, and the Culture Arts Centre. Other places of interest include: Mount Yudalsan Located in the heart of the city, Mount Yudalsan offers terrific views of downtown Mokpo, which stretches through the mountain valleys and along the coastline. Gatbawi Bohaenggyo Bridge is a pedestrian bridge that leads out over the sea to Gatbawi, a rock appropriately named for its resemblance to a man wearing a gat (cylindrical, traditional Korean hat). YEOSU By the time you reach Yeosu you will have seen comparable city centres, but its shoreline, peppered with cliffs, islands and peninsulas, is spectacular. Famous for its seafood, beaches, flowers and marinas, it is developing as an international ocean resort and tourist destination as well as being selected as a host city for the 2012 World Expo. Some places you can visit in Yeosu are: Hyangiram - A beautiful hermitage with views of the sea and the scattered islands that make up Yeosu Peninsula. Admiral Yi - Was a sixteenth century Korean Naval Commander noted for his victories against the Japanese Navy, and the designer of The Turtle Ship. Dolsan bridge - is a beautiful bridge with changing lights at night and lots of seafood restaurants and romantic cafes around the area. Jasan Park - View of Yeosu. Statue of Yi Sun Shin.
