WEDDING and ENGAGEMENT RINGS

C&L INTERLOCK “BARK rings 2011

18K gold and sterling silver interlocking bark wedding rings

In this piece, DinaGM has worked to create a ring within a ring. The interior surface of the larger ring reflects the exterior surface of the smaller ring. To date each each BARK ring is hand carved and has an individual surface, as does each individual tree. In future, the bark rings will be produced in limited edition series, with rings for specific trees, starting with the west coast: Cedar, Arbutus and Douglas Fir.

WEDDING and ENGAGEMENT RINGS

TANZANITE Engagement ring 2013

18K gold and tanzanite engagement ring

Tanzanite is a very delicate soft stone that is rarely if ever used in rings. The design here aims to provide architectural shelter for this precious stone. This is another INTERLOCK ring waiting for the wedding band to interface with it.

V&E INTERLOCK “THE KILLERS” rings 2013

18K gold interlocking form wedding rings - custom

DinaGM INTERLOCK series wedding rings represent the fitting together of couples - the rings fit together but in an imperfect way. Some parts fit exactly, others are slightly off. Each ring stands alone and together they make a larger sculpture.

STACKS SERIES

INTERLOCK “STACK #1 rings 2013

bronze interlocking stack rings

STACKS is a series of rings that stack together and intersect with one another. DinaGM is imagining an endless interlocking tower of rings. Can be worn singly, in specific designed stacks of 3 or 4 rings, or for the bold, multiple stacks fit together...The series is designed to allow the user to invent their own stack with the option to purchase their stack one piece at a time...

SIMPLE FOLDED SERIES - SCULPTURE

“UNTITLED” 2012

plywood, felt.

With this sculpture DinaGM has taken a simple folded ring and scaled it up to become a sculpture. Working wiht plywood and felt she creates a sculpture, a space, a world to explore with the body from a form that originated as a sculpture to be worn.

SIMPLE FOLDED SERIES - FURNITURE

“SCULPTCHAIR” 2013

baltic birch plywood, leatherette and felt.

Sculptchair brings the folded ring form to the scale of sculpture and the added function of furniture. Presented at Interior Design Show 13 in Toronto in January 2013, this is González Mascaró’s first foray into furniture. It grabbed the attention of the media at the show and was featured in an article in the National Post and in a spot on global tv.

KANDINSKY SERIES - RINGS

“KANDINSKY #2” ring 2012 sterling silver sculptural rings inspired by Kandinsky, 2 views shown The Kandinsky series is a sculptural exploration made with forms from the studio scrap heap... These pieces are more sculpture than ring. They do not really ask to be worn but are surprisingly comfortable to wear.

SHIFT SERIES

SHIFT #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5 rings 2012

sterling silver sculptural rings inspired by architectural form.

Shift is an architectural series exploring shifting forms. Some shifts result in pieces that resemble buildings, other shifts remind one of landscapes, some shifts bend reality. Each ring is available in a variety of materials and finishes. They are multiples, but each one is finished by the artist Dina Gonz谩lez Mascar贸 and has a unique touch.

JEWELLER

YELLOWED April ‘12

JEWELLERBAU interior by night, November, 2011.

“my studio and shop - JEWELLERBAU” 2009 - 2012

my studio was a storefront open to the public.

I constructed the public display area of my space around an interior wall sculpture I built inspired by Kurt Schwitters’ merzbau and with an apporach similar to that I take with some of my sculpture and jewellery. Later I deconstructed the white sculpture and renovated the space to be a yellow space. Walls, floor and ceiling... This studio is now closed.
