Amazing Stories from Rabbi Nachman Seltzer!

Raised in St. Louis in the 1920s, Yaakov Moshe Kulefsky seemed an unlikely candidate for Torah greatness. And yet that is exactly what he achieved. Rabbi Yechiel Spero brings to life this brilliant, devoted and humble gaon, who learned and taught Torah in Yeshivas Ner Yisroel for nearly half a century.

RavKulefsky served as a bridge between the prior generation and a new breed of talmidei chachamim — American boys, growing up on baseball and hot dogs. He infused them with a desire to grow and become authentic bnei Torah.

Rabbi Daniel Glatstein is one of the contemporary Jewish world’s most popular maggidei shiur, whose shiurim have garnered literally millions of views and downloads. In this collection of varied, stimulating, and original essays, Rabbi Glatstein draws upon a vast array of sources to show us some of the deep inner meanings of Chanukah and Tu B’Shevat, and how they relate to our own lives.

The unexplored depths of these two holidays beckon the thoughtful and perceptive Jew to discover the treasures that lie beneath the surface. This book will enrich our celebration of these special days. Mrs. Nava Ben Moshe has organized challah bakes for thousands of women.

She has literally hundreds of stories about the power of hafrashas challah — and no one tells those stories quite like Rabbi Nachman Seltzer! In these pages, we will meet Gila, the kibbutznik who was totally uninterested in challah, until she got a sign from Above that even she couldn’t ignore. We’ll even meet a “sourdough starter” that changed a family’s life! Read these unusual and captivating stories, and enjoy “a tiny taste of Heaven”!

Dear Readers,

Ever watch a movie and wonder if you’re seeing real-life footage? How about seeing real-life footage and wondering if you’re watching a movie?

Last week, Shammai Siskind wrote an article in TJH about the covert missions that Israel undertakes in enemy territories. For the past few years, Israel has been waging an undercover war. It’s not a war that utilizes an army of thousands or brings out tanks and rockets. Instead, quietly, stealthily, Israel has unleashed a few assassins to furtively root out perpetrators of evil. Once the deed is done, the operatives melt into the shadows, ready to pounce again should the need arise.

Truthfully, Shammai’s article was written two days too early. Because right after the paper hit the stores, Israel once again showed its prowess when it neutralized the head of Iran’s nuclear power program.

Since then, the details of the assassination have been fluid and murky. At first, Tehran said that Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was killed by a group of assassins; then it said he was killed by bomb; now it’s saying that a drone-activated machine gun was the source of his demise.

Forget the details – they’re not important. What is important is that Iran is seeing a major setback to its nuclear weapons’ ambitions, an interruption that will hopefully delay their nefarious goals for a few more years.

It’s always interesting to me when I read certain books, and they mention the Mossad. These books are fiction books, books about international spies and events, and yet, the Mossad is always at the forefront, its agents carrying out daring assignments. I used to wonder how a country of 9 million could have an intelligence agency on par – perhaps even surpassing – nations like the UK and the United States. But when it comes to Israel, there’s a lot to be amazed about. After all, it’s survival and success are all clearly in the Hands of G-d.

Wishing you a wonderful week, Shoshana
