At our core, Designworks Collective is a creative group of folks driven by imaginative ideas and a passion for designing and sharing great products. We continuously reassess how we can be better stewards, striving to cultivate a business that is both responsible and meaningful. We’re committed to reducing our environmental footprint, while remaining resolute in our efforts to support you and our community. This journey is ongoing and constantly evolving.
As we embark on a new year, we’re excited to share some initiatives that align with our mission and that integrate purpose and joy into our culture.
• CARBON NEUTRALITY – In 2023, we undertook a comprehensive carbon assessment by a third-party organization, Carbon Footprint, and successfully offset our emissions for the year. We are committed to maintaining this effort in 2024 and beyond, with a continued focus on reducing emissions as a key priority.
• ECOLOGI – Partnering with Ecologi has allowed us to help fund a project in Zambia that builds borehole hand pumps in communities with unsafe water that rely on wood to boil their water, which in turn reduces carbon emissions.
• PRINTRELEAF PARTNERSHIP – Starting with this catalog, we have teamed up with PrintReleaf to offset the environmental impact of printed catalogs through certified reforestation. This season, 181 trees will be planted on behalf of our brands.
• COMMUNITY GIVEBACK CONTRIBUTIONS – Since the inception of our programs, we have donated over $350,000 to our giveback partners including the National Park Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Humane Society International, and over $30,000 to World Central Kitchen and the Humane Society to support disaster relief efforts.
While we are proud of these efforts, we believe it’s just a starting point. We are committed to continue to find new ways to lessen our impact on the planet, as well as provide support and community to people who need it. We appreciate your partnership - it allows us to support these missions that are so important to all of us.
