Landform diagram pt.1
landfrorm diagram pt.2
South Mountain is full of trails, and landforms to catch. Many landforms on South Mountain like the Wonder Rift came about through stretching.
As the ground has widened over millions of years. The ground that pulled away, caused mountain to come up to the surface.

Hayden Lawn
The image used on the left is one I captured from the walls inside of Hayden. The library has many types of materials, and in thinking of how Hayden is made up, and organized, the image resembled to me, steps. The steps are one of many things I saw while studying Hayden, and I could only compare my explorations of this quiet space to that of a mime’s. Hayden Lawn is made up of a multiplicity of spaces and an arrangement of environments. Players can sit up high, and down low, in the dark, and in the light. The general mood of the atmosphere is silent, like a mime. Hayden Lawn is made as a space for studying, learning, and exploring. Hayden spaces can range anywhere from grass, couches, steps, desks full of people, and rooms with enough for one, and some rooms are even lecture halls. A mime must learn to explore themselves, to be multidimensional, one must be able to be as hard as the stones’ of Hayden Library, and as cool as the white study spaces. A true player doesn’t forget that they exist in their toes, they exist in their fingers, spine, and all other parts that are considered their body. Hayden with it’s multidimensional personality there is always something to see, and a place to fill your mood. Let’s say you come to Hayden and you feel like sitting down, now how do you want to sit down? Do you feel like it’d be relaxing to be out in the open on the grass, in cubical by yourself, in a private room with just your friends, or on a couch? You’re likely to find it here.

Human Movement Pattern The space represents a great deal of human movement pattern by arranging sidewalks all throughout the space. This allows the users to walk through and utilize the space in a very efficient manner. Additionally, the main focus of the lawn is the Hayden Library that is underground. A large concrete staircase down to the library is incorperated in order for aesthetics and more importantly sufficient use for people. Light, Climate, and Views The Hayden Lawn (mainly due to it’s location in the middle of the hot deserts of Arizona) demonstrates many incorperations of light, climate, and views. The first thing one may notice is that there are giant solar panels at the north end of the lawn. Arizona, being one of the sunniest places in the United States, is a great spot to place solar panels. This demonstrates a great use of utilizing light and climate in a positive manner.

The Hayden library is arranged in a form that allows users to choose the atmosphere that suites them best. The user of this building has a lot too explore from it’s array of spaces. Each space is meant to provide a place to study, and there are an abundance of them. Although the space is meant for studying, there are a lot spots for downtime, whether the user prefers to be a lone or in a group, there’s a spot for that at Hayden. Wild Card Hayden library is very interesting the way it is located both abobe ground and below ground, and you can go to the bottom before reaching the entrance of the above ground building. Building Section 1 in the blue color scheme signals the entrance to the bottom part of the library. Building Section 2 sits above the center of Hayden library; this structure is both a marker, but also used as a spot to relax, study, and read on the Hayden Lawn.
