OBSERVATORY PROJECT

This project is located near Mt. Wilson observatory, this project attemps to make the parti of this design linearity and discontinuation. The circulation is the conection to these pods, which are structurally independent from on another. From both section and plan, the discontinuation can be observed.

The project explores the conection and diferences of private and public areas.

The rst assignment used to prepare us for the observatory project.

For this project we were asked to design a tower that consisted of a 48 feet height and a top platform of 200 square feet. The purpose of this assignmnets was to help us understand the structural design behind every concept.

The approach taken by me was to create tower that had moments throughout each landing to create a sense of privay and openess to the outside of the structure as well as ve protection to users from weather while harsh conditions are present.

Located in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. This museum consists of 20,000 square footatge in which houses projects from Chuharu Shiota, Yoshimoto Nara and others. The project its enclosed by neighboring buildings creating only two poitns of access street and plaza level.

this project was approached by creating an uneven grid of panels and then removing half of said panels by a methos of coin ipping ultimnatley creating voids and negative volumes across the grid creating random spaces for futuree programs. after working with a random procces the project was lacking fucntional spaces. the programs needed to be tted into these spaces and be made into a musuem.

the project has two main entrance one is the street level on rst street and plaza level behind the “main’ entrance. street level is entered through the shop on the ground level in which takes you to second level (plaza level) where loby is located.
