“Light & Warm” Mountain House in Korea
Korea Mountain Residence “LIGHT & WARM”
Location: San-Chung, S.Korea Architectural Design: Jiwon Kim Completion Date: Sept. 2013 Size: 1530sqf Interior, 1245sqf Deck, 178sqf Exterior Terraces
The house is situated in a new mountain village of ‘Sang-Chung’ where Korea Southern mountain region as the most famous clean area. The client of the house is a couple who is their 60’s for preparing comfort dwelling in nature after retirement. It is located at the altitude of 400 meters on the steep slope of the hill. It has been applied unusual combination of different structure system, where the solid concrete for minimum basic frame for holding the weight of ceiling slab and light weight woods system adapted on the entire open space and first floor. This modern house is a medium of learning what is the essence of the simplicity and harmony in a co-living environment with nature. While lines of black eave on the side contrast a creamy warm white building mass its two-story combination draws interesting shape and volumes from the left side view as if a tiny rooftop house is slung over the house. Ground level is the space where the most accommodation is concentrated on. It is needed a flexible area which connects private and common space when it maximizes the common area and reduces the dead space and room size. Bring the AMAZON to Milan?
Via Gattinara, Milan, Italy
Lower the current high density existing today and replacing it with the idea of high density for the future with the breathing living materials and regaining the essence of the human touch, a sense nowadays interpreted different from primitive ages. Bring them to these boundaries rather than going to the Amazon. Degenerated evolution to the "Urban Nature". This paradox is my concept.
Cascina Ronchettone, Milan, Italy
"A new typology of sustainable resort which is extremely accessible with reusable existing structures at metropolitians which are less used or even abandoned. It gives alternative dynamism to both visitors and local dwellers while producing ecological urban landscape that vitalizes the city and reduces the boundaries between the artificial and natural features."

LIGHT OUT OF THE BOX Project Reader : Mara Servetto Workshop 2012 Location : Exhibition Hall, Milan PAC
Social Cradle provides calm and relaxed ways of revolutionary activities especially for city dwellers' who want night out during the weekdays. Often we would like to go out to be active, but not in the same way. For example, "Home sometimes makes me sick!! and bothers me." "I want to be isolated. But not alone." This is a concept of gathering people to stay night with others who don't know each other who just ran away from their house, which is just exactly get out of their daily routine.
The main inspiration for the design is derived from Achille Castilioni’s phrase “think outside the box.” His philosophy of simplicity and irony are reflected in the chosen highlighted objects of each period, following the sequential structure of the book by Sergio Polano. All of his products have a story behind their evolution and with this exhibition, light as a crucial element induces an environment where the audience is let to be engaged and curious.

CHALET ALBA “ Warmth and Solidarity, the Chalet House ”
“Gateway to New Experience” Project Leader : Marina Baracs Workshop 2012 Location : Soekarno-hatta Airport, Indonesia
Project Leader : Fabrizio Lepore Workshop 2012
iHotel is a modular hotel, designed for fast moving travelers looking for a short term stay. We focused on airports due to the nature of the space, inviting to explore new concepts. Airport is considered as a gateway for the new world. it has very significant meaning of the developing the apple brand community to the people from all over the world through the global network. iHotel is located in the departure area where is very accessible to the passengers for transferring the flight or early departure. The feature of the ihotel is exactly same as a satellite shaped terminal and connected by jet bridge giving same mood of boarding a flight. It has one lounge with three floor space and three types of guest rooms which are ‘Standard’, ‘Duplex’, ‘Extended’ with different size and usage, a restaurant.
The idea behind the concept of the space which resembles that of a ‘Chalet’, highlights the warmth and solidarity that a chalet renders to the space it encloses. The reason behind this would be the importance of these elements which are needed to foster a sensitive relationship such as a single mother and a growing daughter. The conception and execution of the space along with the use of spatial division and openness along with the use of materials enriches the experience of the space to make it a home.

From the soft models, 3 directions were set to be developed more for the next stage. Three types of models were Corn shape, Organic, and Tail-up frying pan. After the meeting with client corn shape pan is decided to develop for final prototype.
Happycall Frypan Project (2010. June ~ 2011) It had been proposed the superiority of the design with the company’s patented ceramic, diamond coating technology and uniqueness on their brand identity. ID+IM Studio developed “Safety Alarm Pan” that prevent user to forget and burn the pan. During the period, I mainly contributed on the finding new fucntion through user research, form study, color variation and patterns. This product will be release on the real market soon, so it is not allowed to show detailed design streatgy specifically. Alias Studio, Hypershot, Photoshop, Illustrator
