01 CRLand Shenzhen Dachong Mix-C, China 2014-2015 | RTKL Los Angeles
Dachong Mix-C is a grand project with three districts which represent the concepts of “Clouds”, “Horizon” and “Canyon”. For the main mall of “Clouds”, it is high-end and creative with light tone material like metal fin and perforated panel. For the district between the other two, it has the concept of “horizon”, which means fast-pace and joyful life in city. The district at north street represents the “Canyon”. It is consisted of the dark tone material like brick and arch. The whole project provides a diversity of city life and would definitely be a landmark in this city. We were in charge of the whole podiums and plazas while Foster Partner take care of the towers and JCFO do the landscape, and Arup as engineering consultant. It is a great experience to cooperate with different famous institutions to get involve to this huge project.

Wuhan Ace Mega, China (Mix-use)
2015-2016 | RTKL (Los Angeles), Atelier Ten (Shanghai) RTKL for commercial part(podium), Atelier Ten for residential part(towers)
This project is located at Wuhan with a culture of “Chu”. The site is narrow and long with the length of 800 meters. There is an elevated park throught the whole site with multiple small building cubes on it which make the elevated park have a better scale for pedestrian. One side of this site is an elevated subway station and people from subway station can go visit the park directly without vertical traffic. The sloping roofs and the red tone reflect the “Chu” style. The Chinese Red represents gathering and lively which plays as a symbol of fortune and wealthy. For the residential part, the Atelier Ten is the designer, after I went back to China. I worked there to continue the residential part of this project. The main style of this high-density residential is “art -deco”, which is the most common residential style in new residential buildings in Wuhan. The bottom of the condos still follows the “Chu” style which matches the commercial part as well.

03 Sappro Ski-Resort Luxury Condo, Japan 2013 | MADA spam
It is an interesting and challenging multi-floor ski-resort condo project near Sapporo, Japan. It is located right in the middle of a famous volcano and the largest ski area. It possesses the most two significant views on both ends of the site. Our design strategy is to find a way to have most of the units own direct views to either volcano or ski mountain with addressing the limited building coverage and high F.A.R. requirements.

Benedict House
3025 Benedict Canyon, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 2017 | Project Concept Design This project’s revit modeling and renderings are done by me independently.
This is a freelancer project. My client wanted to flip the house and faced a problem that his last hearing in December 2016 was given quotations to change the height limit from 34’ to 25’ and they thought his design was too boxy in the Mulholland scenic parkway. I checked the relative ordinance (New Hillside Regulations) and specific Mulholland scenic parkway guidelines and helped the client to remain the previous height limit. Then I redesign this project. The previous design was boxy and fragmented visually. I gave it a slope roof which makes it more match to the hills and leave the family room a height of two stories. For the facades, I wish to provide the future residents more gorgeous views and natural light so I just involve more glass curtains as I could. I simplify the elevations to make it more humble to the parkway site and more fit to the hillside. The concept of the house is “Yacht”, which is white with a clean shape. It could looks both standout and harmonious at the same time with no conflict among the mountains. And, what’s the most important, the “Yacht” is not only a house, it is also a attitude of life.

05 Moonridge House
9517 Moonridge Terrace Place, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 2017 | Construction Supervision This project is still under construction.
This is a fantastic project which located at the Mulholland park scenic. This is a modern luxury house built since 2015 and it is still under construction. I was invited to supervise the works of sub-contractor everyday since the absence of the general contractor from February to June. Which makes it a unique experience there is not only the obtaining the knowledge of building a local luxury house but also the communication with different sub contractor such as stucco, glass, welder etc. and arrange schedules among them. It reshapes my architectural knowledge from the practical perspective.

Villa Gardens, Benin (West Africa) 2016 | Atelier Ten, Shanghai
This villa garden is located at Benin’s sea shore. Benin is at the west of Africa and its map looks like a key. That key’s tiny point is the only area which attach the South Atlantic Ocean. Residents here can go to enjoy the sea shore easily. And every villa in the garden has a swimming pool for local people who fight with the hot climate near equator. The light tone is used to reflect heat and make the space sensuous enlarged. Every villa has a courtyard to provide a private family open space which respect the local tradition. It’s a unique oppotunity to design houses in West Africa and throught it I get known about some of their local cuture and favors.

Tokyo Housing Complex is a Building Complex which has commercial podium at the bottom and condos at above. The main form of the shape of a center-hollowed moutain has a program of residential. Although it is huge, it could offer sufficient sunlight and fresh air circulation to the residents by leaving space inside. Almost every unit could share a gorgeous views of the city and have sufficient natural light. There are plenty of commercial units at the hillfoot. It provides young people not only an affordable living cost but a life of diversity. Besides entertainment, the complex also provides open work space for young people to get together and create new ideas. Residents would have fun here.

Paris Pavilion | the Art of Peace, France 2016 | Group Competition Other Member: Qi Chen
This project’s revit modeling and renderings are done by me independently
Wandering and meandering, the scenario encouraging interaction in a casual way, is the theme of this project. Located in the city of Paris, a city of “culture meandering”, the project stands as a temporary structure, while reminding people of the eternal topic— Peace. The two-floor structure is like a landscape growing from the earth, not to overact in front of the Eiffel Tower. It is consisted of a series of ramps and paths, a major step could serve as a seating space when a concert is taking place and on the back side of the steps, the names of victims in Bataclan Terror Attack are engraved on the panels to form a memorial interface of meditation space. A shop and a café are located at the first floor and a workshop island floats on the second floor.

Shenzhen Longhua Hospital, China 2012 | Independent Graduate Design at HUST Advisor: Yi Yang
This project’s sketchup modeling and Renderings done by me independently. This project won the excellent graduate design prize of 2012 at Hubei Province in China
This Project is an orthopadic hospital in Shenzhen. The architect uses a long steel bridge to connect the section of outpatients and the main road which can introduce walk-in patients to the front building directly. A sink plaza is created beneath the bridge. Handicapped patients could easily go down to the plaza and get recovered. In terms of facade, the section of outpatients uses a vertical language while the other high rise buildings have a square one.
