01 STORAGE VALLEY Type: Architecture/ Infrastructure/ Storage Time: 2020 Fall Location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY Instructor: Jongwan Kwon Software: Rhino, AI, PS, ID, CAD, Lumion
The storage valley is an extra storage space for multigeneration families and single people. The difference
with the existing storage space is that people can
customize their temporary space as a different
function. The clean facade without any openings makes this building looks like a white box and shows
the different styles with the surroundings. This storage
is a place to store objects, also is a place to display the aesthetics and attitude of life.

16 Typologies
There are 16 types of storage from small size to extra large to fit in a
single person and multi-generation family. All of this can be divided
into two categories, one floor and
one floor with an attic. The attic will help clarify the objects through the frequency of use.
Massing Development Dig a cuboid out of the block to the formulation of an L shape for private storage. The subtracting area is a temporary space that can be a multi-functional area when people carry items without occupying public walkways. It can also be a sales area where for people to exchange or sell unused goods. This area was delicious as temporary storage, rest area, and private gallery. This area can be seen as the user's participation in the design to form the culture. Meanwhile, carve out a portion of the volume to add a staircase will like a puzzle. 11
Overlap
Stacking the different sizes of units to use the rooftop as the corridor and temporary space. The rule of overlap is to make the facade looks like a whole as possible, and the openings on the facade of the atrium create dialogues on the sight view.

02 DEEPWATER HORIZON MEMORIAL MUSEUM Type: Museum Time: 2019 Spring Location: Gulf of Mexico Instructor: Ying Yu Software: Sketch up, AI, PS, ID, CAD, Vray
On April 20, 2010, a catastrophic oil spill occurred in the Gulf of Mexico. It shocked the whole world. Crude
oil spill not only affects the ocean but also destroys
the ecological environment. Most of the oceans,
beaches, and wetlands are covered and polluted. Through a series of investigations into these incidents, Deepwater Horizon Memorial & Museum was built to
remind people of the disaster caused by the incident and to raise awareness of environmental protection.

The choice of material is from the oil experiment. The oil spilled on
the water, throughout the sunlight the surface of the water turn to be colorful. The laser film can reflect
the light and shows the colorful shadow on one side and present the
aqueous project on the other side.
In the museum space, laser glass will be used as decoration material. 22

03 SEEK FOR FLAVOR Type: Restaurant Time: 2019 Fall Location: Nanjing, China Instructor: Popo Gu Software: Sketch up, AI, PS, CAD, Vray
Traditional dietary culture is gradually disappearing in the younger generation. People are attracted by high-
end restaurants and fresh tastes, while mobile snack stalls and shops that preserve traditional flavors are
closed because of their simplicity. I hope to restore the unique dietary culture of Chinese folk through this new traditional dietary space. On the premise
of maintaining the liquidity characteristics, let the tradition become delicate, let more young people accept the tradition and love traditional delicacies.

The center of Nanjing Impression
is the dining space which is surrounded by food stalls. Although
this layout deliberately restores the traditional way of operation of
snack stands, the mode of space restriction is single.
The mobile snack stalls in Nanjing have gradually disappeared. The
stalls turns out that this location has no specific rules, but the
customers are very stable. In order to eat delicious food, diners will actively look for mobile stalls.

This is the toy of Chinese historical allusions. Huarong Routing consists
of many units of different sizes, one of which is void for other blocks to move. This concept are conbined withmobile snack stalls. Restoring
the mobility of traditional snack stalls, let diners find the snack
stalls they want, and enhance the spatial interaction.

institution, such as coffee baristas, bookstore administrators, etc. This allows patients to better expose their minds. Through cooperation with hospitals and advertising.

Inspiration My concept has come from breaking a cocoon into a butterfly. Urban people live under great pressure every
day. Negative emotions are like silk spun by silkworms,
wrapping them tighter and tighter. Most individuals
always bound to silkworm cocoons. I want to create a cocoon-like space with a sense of wrapping. Provide a safe environment. When they leave this space, they can be cured like a butterfly broken cocoon.
Simulate The Sate of Silkworm
From the state of silkworm threading to wrapping, the space needs to create a soft and safe atmosphere.
Inflatable membranes are filled with different media,
such as cotton, pink water, and air. Patients can touch soft materials and shuttle in different transparent spaces to achieve the closure and opening of the mind.
The cocoons are cut in different ways to explore
different ways of space enclosure and furniture. The curved partition and furniture shape the comfortable
atmosphere. Avoid corners, especially for depressed patients with emotional instability.
