Project 1: Advertising Brief: My brief for my advertising project was to create visual poster designs for any client of my choice using any two artists styles of my choice I decided to research Tim Marrs and Mike Lythgoe as my artists and i started experimenting using their styles before creating my final piece. Below is how i experimented in both artists styles
I decided to experiment more with the separation of the top half of the subjects head, I had more of a Tim Marrs influence and below is my result.
I realised that i didnt like thte threshold that i did on the subject so i knew i didnt want this in my final design
Final Pieces for Project 1
Below are my final designs for this project
Alternative Design
This is the alternative design I made for my poster, its more of how i would have designed it but with a slight influence of Mike Lythgoe
Project 2: Corporate Identity Brief: my brief for this task was to create my own corporate identity and design mockups for my identity I decided that i was going to make a logo for my identity and a background pattern for packaging
I drew a design for my pattern and i decided to go with diamonds because i wanted it to look luxurious
I also wanted to experiment further by creating my own font for this logo
This is my finished pattern for my identity.
below is the logo i created for my corporate identity. i also applied the log to my background pattern
Final Outcome for Project 2
This is my corporate identity applied to a mock up so that i can see how it will look on various different things
Project 3: Issue Editorial Brief: The brief for this project was to create an editorial on any issue i would like to address. we also had to make sure there are elements of info graphics within the editorial I decided to do my editorial on a topic that happened in the news recently and that was on #blacklivesmatter. I wanted to include facts and statistics and also some inspirational quotes from famous activists. below are some of the pictures i edited for the editorial
Project 4: Branding Brief: my brief for this project was to create Branding and Identity for a company of my choice. The company could either be in a physical space, an online company or a conceptual company. my branding concept that i came up with is a holiday company that provides young people aged 18-24 in full time education with all inclusive sea-side holidays at a heavily discounted rate across the world in exchange for a week of charity work in developing continents such as africa and parts of asia. I went with the name Splash because it was simplistic and fit the purpose of my company. i started of by sketching logo ideas which i then developed.
I explored different typefaces for my logo to see which one fits best with my logo.
I also took two of my drawings and developed them by tracing over them in illustrator and adding colour to them so that i had a mascot for my company and below are the results. i didnt decide to use the gorrila as i thought it didn’t fit in with the theme of the brand.
I then experimented with different colour schemes and arrangements to see which one was best for my brand
I then had to see which font goes with the mascot best by experimenting with them.
Final logo for Project 4 below was my final outcome for my logo
Project 4 Application now that i had my logo i decided to create various different mock ups for my brand. These are examples of how my logo and brand may be presented on a shop as well as different products and items. There are examples such as if i were to make an app and how that may look like and also a website and ideas how that may look. There also is an indication on how clothing and accessories may look as i have created my own t-shirts that sport the Splash brand among it.
Alternative Design for Project 4
After some feedback on my logo i was told that i should try and incorperate a suitcase into my logo to make it a bit more obvious in my design and here is the alternative design i came up with.
Project 5: Narrative piece Brief: For this we had to create anything that would get anyone looking at it to create possibilities and questioned based on what we create. we were given the options to create either a gif, book cover or a film poster. I decided to do a fiction book about a boy growing up in a foreign country and having to learn a new culture. the country ive chose was is Barcelona as i had travelled there in november and had taken photos whilst out there. the subject matter of the book was to address conflict issues between two cultures, one country being england to another being Spain. i started experimenting with the pictures i took and i wanted to get some form of double exposure into my piece. below are my experiments
Final Outcome for Project 5 After some feedback on my title, I was told that my font choice was too curly and barely readable and also that i should make my title relate more to the character as he his a photographer and thats when i decided to change the name from A New Life: My Barcelona story to Life Through My Lens : A Barcelona story. these are my outcomes after the title change.
Alternative piece for Project 5
This was my alternative piece for my book, instead i decided to make the double exposure cover the whole subject rather than just from the camera in my other piece and i feel that this adds a level of mysteriousness to the cover.
Starting my own Brand Me and a friend of mine have always had an ambition to start and run our own company, particularly with clothing we decided to brainstorm possible names for the brand until we stuck with the name ‘Plug Apparel’. we then decided on what our logo should look like and this is what we came up with.
We then decided on what product we wanted to release first and after doing some market research we decided to do trucker hats as they are what is currently in fashion and fairly cheap to produce.
We managed to break even on our product but due to us having to self fund our business we have had to put it on hold and start again very soon. we have twitter and instagram accounts that are updated regularly to get our business out there
Project: Album covers Brief: for this Project we had to make an album cover about ourselves in any artists style we wanted I looked at some examples of album art and i took inspiration from Lil Wayne and Zayn Maliks albums who had themselves as children with tattoos crudely photoshopped on. i also decided to look at Chance the Rappers album cover as it had an oil painting feel which i tried to replicate. here are the final covers.
