HALF HOLLOW HILLS CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Budget Vote and Trustee Election May 21, 2013 Candidate ACode of Conduct@ Seeking election to the Board of Education is a serious responsibility. Candidates need to be role models and behave in a way we can all be proud of. For the past few years, every candidate seeking election has agreed to a Acode of conduct@ that we hope will accomplish these objectives. We would expect that all of the candidates for election on May 21, 2013 would agree with the same ideals. 1)
No campaign signs on trees, traffic devices, telephone or light poles, etc. (Actually, this is the Law in the Township of Huntington)
2)
There will be no campaigning on the grounds of the polling place (High School East) on the day of the vote. (Even the Democrats and Republicans respect the sanctity of our schools when they hold general elections in our buildings.)
3)
Focus on issues. Avoid inflammatory personal remarks.
4)
No tampering or destruction or removal of campaign literature, signs, etc.
5)
No campaign signs on personal property without the owner’s permission.
It has been past practice, that all of the candidates have agreed to observe these principles. We are hopeful that all of the candidates this year will also agree, so that we may have an election campaign that our community can be proud of. The Board of Education would like to be able to share with the community the commitment of this year=s candidates to this Acode of conduct@. However, signing below is not a requirement for seeking election to the Board of Education. Thank you.
