FAREWELL Farewell from your Lieutenant Governor
Hey Division 70 Key Clubbers! I hope you are all doing well and getting pumped up and excited for DCON which is coming up in just a couple of days! Although one of the most fun events of the Key Club year is approaching, don’t forget about the SERVICE! Make sure to continue serving your communities! I cannot believe that the time has come for me to write this farewell to you all. This term has rushed by quicker than I ever imagined it would. Serving as your Lieutenant Governor was truly a valuable learning experience for me, and one that I will cherish. It has stretched me and taught me how to be a better leader and has enlightened me to aspects of service that I didn’t know about! Thank you to everyone that truly made my term a once in a life time experience! I hope to see as many of you at DCON as possible, but for now, farewell! In Care and Service,
Jimin Lee Lieutenant Governor of Division 70

HELLO Hello from your Incoming Lieutenant Governor Hey Key Clubbers, I’m Kennedy Birley, a sophomore from Canby High School. I am in cross country, swim team, and track. I love hiking and spending time outdoors, but I equally love Netflix. I am so exited to be the new Lt.G, there aren’t even words for it! This year is going to be amazing With a new division and mascot! I am incredibly excited to meet everyone individually and see what your club’s plans are for the year. This year I have many plans to improve and strengthen our division. My first plan is to make smaller DCM’s, this is to help everyone get to know each other on a more personal level and so the clubs feel comfortable teaming up for service projects. Another thing to strengthen our division that I have planned would be a divisional service project! I hope to create projects that we can work on as a division and execute together. My plan thus far is a Key Club 5K, no you do not have to run in it, we will be hosting it. I am really excited to meet some of you at DCON and for those of you that can’t make it, I am excited to meet you at my clubs visits and DCM’s! Feel free to contact me for just about anything! What’s Happeni
WHAT?
BIG changes have been made that will ultimately make our Division stronger as well as ensure the success of the Division’s future! A “new” Division 70 has been made with a combination of the old Division 68 and Division 70. The members and clubs of both divisions have now come together to form a single division that is recognized as Division 70.
WHY?
The reason for this merger is because John Kendall, Lieutenant Governor of Division 68, and I believed that Division 70 and Division 68 had grown weaker rather than stronger. We believed that one bigger and stronger division is better than two smaller, mediocre divisions.

WELCOME TO DCON. District Convention is the yearly gathering of the Pacific Northwest District of Key Club. Three days, two nights of chanting, learning, growing, and bonding—it doesn’t get any better than that. The 66th Annual District Convention will take place from March 13th to March 15th, 2015 at the Washington State Convention Center and Sheraton Hotel in Seattle, WA. This year’s theme emphasizes the members who go an extra mile to explore the endless boundaries of service:

With The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. Neonatal tetanus kills one baby every nine minutes—nearly 60,000 newborn children every year. A significant number of women also die due to maternal tetanus. The effects of the disease are excruciating— tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. To eliminate MNT from the Earth, 129 million mothers and their future babies must be immunized. This requires vaccines, syringes, safe storage, transportation, thousands of skilled staff and more. It will take $110 million—and the dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis family. Kiwanis and UNICEF joined forces to tackle iodine deficiency disorders, achieving one of the most significant public health successes of the 20th century. Now, together, they are eliminating MNT from the face of the Earth. In doing so, the project will reach the poorest, most neglected mothers and babies with additional lifesaving health care. The end of this one disease means the beginning of better health for so many families.
