Public land will be set aside to protect wildlife for future generations including parks managed by the National Park Service and national wildlife sanctuaries operated by the US. Monitoring wildlife populations is an important part of conservation because it allows managers to collect information on the status of endangered species and measure the effectiveness of management strategies.
