whilst our 18V ONE+ fans have recently flown out the door due to the extended tropical spell, but sometimes you just can’t beat an everyday use and great value tool such as the 18V ONE+ combi drill with multiple batteries for all your DIY jobs at a cracking price.

What top tips would you give before starting any DIY project – inside or out?

Assess you’ve got the right tool for the job! What’s the application? Are you drilling into wood, then a drill driver is all you need, but if you’re drilling into brick then you need a combi drill. Is your garden one tennis court size? Then a modest sized lawnmower is fine – if you’ve got an estate to mow, then think bigger.

Seems obvious, but a lot of discussions we have with end users which end up in disappointment is because they have the wrong tool for the job. If you own cordless battery tools, then consider the size of battery which has a direct impact on your runtime. The bigger the job, the bigger the battery and/or requirement for multiple batteries. Also, invest in the right accessory for the job (if applicable). So often, we hear people blaming the tool for not being up to the job, but actually it’s the incorrect accessory or just a cheap version which can totally diminish the tool.

Finally, before you do any part of your project, always get the tool running before starting. For example, get the drill fully rotating before applying to brickwork or a chainsaw fully rotating before chopping to avoid stalling the tool or damaging the motor or electronics over a prolonged period.

Precious Pumpkin

If you’re looking to reduce the sugar in your diet by moderating your carbohydrate intake, roast pumpkin is a healthy alternative to potato and sweet potato wedges. Chop pumpkin fl esh into chunks or wedges, drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and smoked paprika, and roast in the oven.

Packed with polyphenols

Polyphenols are natural plant compounds found in fruits and vegetables with the deepest colours – whether red, orange, yellow, purple or blue. Research has found that polyphenols have anti-infl ammatory and antioxidant effects on the human body, protecting our cells from damage and supporting immunity.
