The mechanics of the patterned armor structure fold and unfolds like an umbrella, and by doing so allows a circumference pattern to adjust lighting force within a space. Mullions that fix this armor mechanics in place is a sub layer of armor as its sole purpose is to provide structure for this skin and allows transparency with windows. In conclusion, with any kind of shading system, the knowledge of provided light is needed for control. June/July

Circulation

Case The harbor of Pesaro, Italy current atmosphere is comprised of a sequence of void spaces temporarily occupied by empty warehouses and small boating docks that walls off public interaction and circulation. Concept The program for the site proposes the harbor becomes a civic zone that promotes local and tourist activity where the two will intervene in observation, play and trade. “The Shells of Pesaro” focused in a flexible place where cultures collide in collaboration of entertainment. Placed on the site reminiscent of multiple shells occupied by many hosts dwell the Harbor Shell Buildings

PURPOSE SITE WAVES

NORTH ISLAND CORONADO

Wave power collection has been experimented and implemented in varies designs. Yet this design intent was informed by natures natural systems of the jellyfish. The jellyfish with no brain responses to the flow of the wave for movement. With that in mind this system with operable legs propels the electromagnetic induction collects energy from magnets by motion. The place of the system is South of Point Loma, which is induces of many waves from the pacific and occurrence of the jetty.

There are no beaches near the Point Loma area and the swimming opportunities are poor and downright dangerous. This allows oppertunity to set-up means of energy colelction. This area is one of San Diego rocky areas where waves crashes on to the cliffs, and is located near a wastewater treatment plant.

BASE WAVE

PEAK WAVE

Legs are oscillating springs due to waves which acts as a pump that generates pressure to onshore generators.

The colors selection for the Jellyfish wave power collectors was inspired by the natural colors of bright jellyfish. Warning fishes and other potential harm from coming close to proximity.

MARKET SHED 7

Urban homesteading is a form of self-help housing where abandoned private properties in urban areas are taken over by the building’s usually poor residents. Self-help housing aims to manage the buildings cooperatively, and residents may work collaboratively with a non-profit organization or city government to legally obtain ownership of the building.
