Hello! My name is Jiraphat Icey Shirko I am currently a Senior student pursuing a bachelor of Architecture Degree at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. This is my portfolio I have done during school year.
I
would
describe
myself
as
a
compassionate,
meticulous, and ambitious student with a passion for creating quality spaces where people can truly thrive. When I’m not at my desk in studio, I can either be found at the gym, hiking trail or draw on my sketchbook.
One of my favorite drawing mediums are Pigma Micron felt-tip pens or Copic multi linear with colors. I have quite the collection, and I happily use them any time I can !
My second favorite tool is a camera. Travel and capture everything around me is one of my habits. I use canon T7 with multiple different lens to capture different places I go and love to share my journey.
I would like to thank you for taking the time to look through my portfolio. It is direct reflection of who I am as an emerging professional and as a student.

TOLEDO MASTER PLAN : MAUMEE ISLAND
DOWNTOWN
TRANSPORTATION AND ASSET
SENIOR
Recently, downtown Toledo has been renovated and developed into a more urban city. There has been thousnads of new visitors coming to the downtown area to experience the new arts, cultueral desinations, and sporting events it has to off er. However, the downtown Toledo area is still missing its focal point to complete its new urban facelift in order to captivate the current locals as well as drive new citizens into the city. The solution to completing Toledo’s urbanization is the ‘Maumee Island’. The Maumee Island will provide a “city within a city”concept to locals and tourists that will complete thier downtown experience. After walking around the busy streets of Toledo, the Maumee Island will give individuals a chance to escape the chaos onto the fl oating island right off the Maumee River. On the island there are plenty of activities to satisfl iy peoples needs such as shops, resaurants, and even a park to play and relax at. However, to make the Island still feel like part of the city, the layout has an architectonic design simialr to the current format of downtown Toledo. Also, to share in the elevations downtown Toledo currently has, the Maumee Island off ers elevated topography similar to the elevations of the current buildings and skyscrapers. This allows the Maumee Island to truely be minature fl oating Toledo. The overall goal of this design is to bring people together in the center of downtown Toledo while giving them the opportunity to intereact more with the beautiful Maumee River.

Creating innovatibe and beautiful dic with a mixture of material. The modified wood is used for most the decking, while a transition strip of metal runs the perimeter, separating the floating dock arms from the rest of the planks. This makes a pleasing design to the eye, while helping to illuminate the edge of the dock for anyone coming near it no matter what time of day or night. DOC SIDE VIEW Docking stairs is a sculptural staircase linking to the upper shopping and restaurant space and offers pedestrian connectivity to the water’s edge and seating, while trees provide greenery and shade.
LITTLE PARK It’s a small, safe green space where people can curl up and rest, or spontaneously interact with residents and visitors. Little Parkcreate intimacy in the street, and that’s what makes the experience magical. And that’s why people keep coming back to them.

The Land of Funk : Dayton, Ohio Funk, a fusion of jazz, rhy thm and blues, and rock , was a popular trend in Af rican American music during in the late 1970s. The roots of this genre, however, run wide and deep. A walk through vir tually any predominantly black urban neighborhood in the 1970s decade may have been accompanied by a soundtrack supplied by bands rehearsing or playing at an outdoor gathering at a park. This chapter explores an overlooked site in the histor y of funk music and, more broadly, Af rican American culture in Day ton, Ohio, also known as “ The Land of Funk.” Although funk during its peak years—roughly 1975 to the early 1980s— had regionally specif ic styles and forms of expression, a dispropor tionately large number of funk bands recording with major labels came f rom Day ton: Ohio Players (Westbound and Mercur y), Additionally, there were countless Day ton bands that did not attain recording contracts but maintained a local following. In spite of these developments, scholarly acknowledgement of Day ton as a funk epicenter is only beginning to emerge. 11

Music and Colors : Music and colour are similar in the uncanniest of ways. At a fundamental level, both hit us in a powerful, memorable and emotional sense. Most interesting correlations between music and colour to be that both follow a spectrum. It has been documented that aesthetes and non-synesthetes alike draw the comparison f rom low musical notes to dark colours (negative) and high notes to bright colours (positive).

The Hajj is the obligatory Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, and every able-bodied Muslim who can afford it must make the pilgrimage at lease once in their lifetime. Muslim also must recite or memorize the quran, which is verbalized bring prayer. Sharia is the religious law of Islam that is derives from Quran, Sunnah, Qiyas, and Ijma. Sufism, Islamic mysticism, is an approach to Islam that seeks to find a direct personal experience of Allah and focus on the experience of the traditions and practices not expressed in the Quran. Halal is the permissible food eaten by Muslims, and has concise restrictions.
