Contempoorary Art Museum
Assignment The building is a museum located in Kyoto, which is one of the oldest cities in Japan. The purpose of the museum, especially contemporary museum is different from that of old days as a palace of art. The more important function is to entangle contemporary activities since function and activities in museum is more expanded than ever. Contemporary means not just historically same time but also exiting in the same time. This means a lot especially in the city like Kyoto which has been florishing for more than 1200 years and has a vibrant culture.Furthermore, recently a growing number of visitors means conjecture of people in various ages and from various countries. The site is at the heart of Kyoto along Kamo river. Thus, it is also in between Nature and Artificial. We want you to design Contemporary museum which is a mixture of various people and things than ever before.

1.1.ANALYSIS Site Analysis:Kyoto
To protect this typical Kyoto landscape, Kyoto city enposes many regulations to a newly built buildings, so it seems like the look is conserved.
A lot of buildings in Kyoto have very narrow facade due to the tax system back in Edo era.
However dispite making the facade looks traditional, some buildings look diferent from others. A good example is the hoteel currently locateed in the site. It has traditional elements sticked to the facade but since it has very long facade. it doensn't match surrounding buildings. To make a museum

Chayamachi Cultural Complex
Project P roject 2
Design Practice IV-2
Assignment To be short, architecture is about making a place for people to gather. However, in recent years, people's cultural interest become fragmented and diversitize. Also, with the development of internet media, connection between people become not involove to the real space. That being said, conversely, it is becoming more and more important to make a place for diverse people to gather and accidentally know each other. The site, Tyayamachi in Osaka is a wonderful city full with cultural center such as theatre and cinema and multiple shops in various sizes. This assignment is to design a cultural complex with roadness that continues vertical in Tyatamachi. To design a place people gather, you have to design a media comlex with samll theatre, cinema, library with art books, gallery, studio and practice rooms. The site is close to Umeda Art theatre and train routes. Based on such conditions, the design should have atractiveness of varioius activities inside

Design Practice III-2 Music hall
Assignment In modern time, where we can listen to music anywhere, we need special experience with going to musical hall. The experience of listening to music can be expanded by not only inside space of the hall but also foyer, lobby and surrounding environment. The area of the site is located south of Nijyo-castle. Thus, a lot of visitors come from around the world. However, south of the site is a town people live in, so this site is in between those two contexts. You are expected to plan both musical hall people gather at certain time to enjoy music and enjoyable for local community. The latter should be enjoyable for music listeners, local community, travellers and so on. It means architecturise the gap between daily activities and non-daily activities. You should aim at site-specific building. We want to think about the relationship between multiple kind of people.
