the aim of this project has been to iden tify and trial a diverse range of collaborative Information Communicatio n Technology (ICT) tools that: (a) could support engagement betwee n the university and its external collaborative business and community partners (b) enable secure exchange of informat ion (c) be safely embedded with the current university IT infrastructure. Thus, various online software, such as Wikis, Plone, Joomla and WordPress, have been tested to explore how these support communication and information exchan ge via a dedicated project server. This communication has been al so supplemented by other ICT technologies supporting synchronous an d asynchronous communication.
