On day 2 we are going to: Review each area of the plan together Decide on monitoring – update and integrate the Quality Cycle (use Info Kit ‘Monitoring’ section) Link Quip’s Link to Governance

Review of strategy sections Note: This section assumes all leadership team members have consulted with their teams using the ‘managing strategic activity’ section of the Infokit: Graeme to present review of ‘front section’ of the strategy to include, mission, vision and values Each member of LT to present their updated section individually or in pairs/groups as appropriate If anyone sees a link to their areas or an issue with a particular point – speak up now Review the proposed strategic plan as a group
KPI’s Add ‘year’ KPI’s to the strategic plan sections: Reminder: ‘What is a KPI?’ "financial and non-financial measures or metrics used to help an organization define and evaluate how successful it is, typically in terms of making progress towards its long-term organizational goals" In pairs: Discuss the KPI’s you have chosen for each year – or – if this has not been done – write key KPI’s for each year These ‘key year KPI’s’ will be referenced in your QuIP’s for each year Refer to this year’s QuIP or to next years if this helps
KPI’s Add ‘year’ KPI’s to the strategic plan sections: When writing your KPI’s it’s helpful to note: What is the most important thing that will be done in the year? What can realistically be achieved this year? Is the KPI SMART? Will your teams agree? Discuss proposed KPI’s within this group
2010-11 QuIP Presentation Each LT member to present QuIP proposal for 20102011 Each LT member to present draft Quip Identify areas that link to your QuIP and note this – Note that an hour after lunch has been set aside for the cross-referencing of the QuIP’s If there is an area of contention on who should lead on a particular point – GP / MC will arbitrate Additionally link to QuIP’s all known other ‘strategy documents’ e.g. ILT Strategy and link in when these need to be reviewed next Identify any external accreditation (Ofsted, CQC etc) on the QuIP’s and dates if known

QuIP cross referencing This process will allow us to work better as a team: This will begin as a ‘free form’ activity: – Use the notes you made this morning – If IT1 maps to Facilities5 note on both QuIP’s – Reframe the items on the QuIP to detail who is going to do what – The same item may have different or shared KPI’s between QuIPs – Start with Rohan’s Technology QuIP as a group activity to demonstrate – Rohan to then support on request

Governance Proposal to involve the governors New strategic plan to be sent to the governors Each governor has an area of interest: – Each LT member to meet with ‘their’ governor and review their section of the strategic plan and, – Their 2010-11 QuIP – Note the cross references to other LT QuIP’s Governors to ask: – Are the QuIP’s appropriate? – Is anything missing? Suggest any changes . . . .
