Nina Rycroft • Graduated from Randwick College in Sydney, Australia with a diploma in graphic design in 1992


Background •  Worked as a designer in both Sydney and London before moving to Rome! •  Began illustration career in 2000 with the publication of her first picture book The Little Platypus.

Featured Work •  Ballroom Bonanza is most recent work published in 2009 •  She not only did the illustrations, but worked with Stephen Harris for the story development •  Technique: watercolor, gouache, and colored pencil

Gouache •  …is a type of paint consisting of pigment suspended in water. •  …the particles are larger, the ratio of pigment to water is much higher, and usually contains white pigment such chalk. •  …is heavier and more opaque, with greater reflective qualities than watercolor.
