* Mid-America Soccer Conference # won NCAA Play-In Match ^ Mahler served as interim head coach in 1993, while Palmisano worked at the Detroit venue in preparation for the 1994 World Cup Photos (from top to bottom): Mickey Cochrane, Gary Palmisano, Mel Mahler, Fred Thompson and Eric Nichols. The Falcons have had just five head coaches in the history of the program, which will enter its 56th season in the 2020-21 academic year.
