ACADEMIC: DATA SCIENCE AND INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING Our studio started by designing an overall campus masterplan for the newest CSU located in Stockton. My partner, Gabrielle Werst and I worked on the Data Science and International Understanding academic building on the CSU campus. We chose programs that would allow for a fusion between environmental law and science, while allowing students to be a part of saving the planet. Our aim was to encourage diverse learning spaces and create many options of spaces for people to collaborate throughout the entire building, inside and outside.

SOUTH FACADE Most of the building is covered in white erracotta panels paired with terracotta louvers.

PHYSICAL MODEL AND DETAIL (LIGHT/ SPACIAL STUDY)

FORM DEVELOPMENT PROCESS The project is a multipurpose use tower that is located in San Fransisco. It has programs including a theatre, cafe, commercial and microresidential in one building. Inspired by our warm up kinetic model, the towers structures are inspired by Toyo Ito’s Sendai Mediatheque with the tube like structure that goes through the entire lenght of the building. The Dancing Tube mimics the motion of a dancer twirling at its place.



 











GARDEN COMMUNITY The public gardens on the site serves as an anchor to the project. The project is designed to connect the community gardens together and encourage the residents to practice sustainable gardening while being able to enjoy being surrounded by nature. The project includes a multi-family housing, community center, a community garden that has a farm to table cafe, and a playground.

INTERNSHIP SGPA ARCHITECTURE AND PLANNING


INTERNSHIP WORK This was the Vestar Pacific Commons in Fremont. I was first tasked to model the site and the existing buildings. Since our scope of work is to do some “planning” (which was a lot of landscaping) and renovation of a building. Here are the before and after views of the work we did on the Vestar Pacific Commons. I modelled the updated landscaping and I designed the facade of the retail stores.

I was tasked to create a programmatic model for this project on SketchUp for the before and after masterplan of this project. It was part of an RFI that my firm wanted to submit. Through this I learned to get a little more familiar with SketchUp since I had no prior knowledge on this.

INTERNSHIP WORK I started off the project by doing plan check comments for the building deparment. I was then added into the project on Revit to assist my co-worker on revisions and updating the drawings for the permit set. I continued to work on plan checks for different department and filled in Calgreen Measure Checklist. I also learned about the condition’s of approval and gathering consultant’s documents and responses.Aside from updating keynotes, I also organize the notes, tables and making sure that they fulfill the plan checks but is also following the code. I also updatead some of the drawings in the construction drawing in accordance to corrections from my co-worker.
