Generally very good progress across a ‘tricky & testing’ new curriculum. Many pupils have moved forward New ‘Provision Mapping’ proving successful with impact on vulnerable pupils / groups Quality plays – KS2 - ‘Robin Hood‘ / KS1 – ‘Nativity’ Highly successful additional educational experiences - trips / residentials etc. Intra-school competitions / activities , ‘X-Factor, Rugby World Cup Week, Dragon’s Den, Eco Day, Literacy Week, Dress-up Days etc.’ – excellent standard & pupil engagement New Senior Pupils / Rewards & Sanctions System / Playground Zones New Parental Forum / Very good feedback from Annual Parental Questionnaire / New PSA Good attendance from parents / carers for information sessions – Maths / Phonics etc, Music – Christmas Service/ Clarinets / Yr 3 - Guitars / Other Musicians – Amanda & Roger / Choir – public performances (Yeovil, Sherborne, Rotary Club etc.) / concerts Near complete SDP! Huge achievement with nearly ALL targets achieved! School attendance generally in line with National Average again NATIONAL SPORTSMARK – Silver Award
Celebrating Achievements 2015 - 2016 Premises Celebration Grant Funded Chicken Coop – how much does everyone loves the chickens!! Playground Zones – mostly successful with lower level of behaviour incidents during the difficult winter / wet months Outdoor learning in full flow with ‘Eco-Walks’ / ‘Whole School Eco Day’ etc. Repairs & maintenance within budget New ‘Mile a Day’ generally successful with the support of the Sports Council New Security Fencing – ‘nagging issue’, now solved (hopefully) New Grasshopper Class base (& SCAPA) – extra facility New ‘Learning Lounge’
Celebrating Achievements 2015 - 2016 Extra-Curricular & Role of Honour Sherborne Area & North Dorset Cricket – CHAMPIONS (‘A’ Team & Year 5 Team) Sherborne Area Girls Football – Runners-up Sherborne Area Swimming Gala – TEAM CHAMPIONS / Many Individual winners Sherborne Area Athletics– MANY individual winners Sherborne Area Chess Tournament – Runners-up Inter-school sport in football, tag rugby, netball, cricket, athletics, crosscountry, swimming, rounders Eco-Club, Boys Writing Club, Spanish Club, Sports Clubs (many), Eco Club, Lego Club, OT Club, Lunch Clubs, Film Club, Cooking Club, Chess Club, Music & Choir Clubs, Choir performances
