Headteacher: Mr Ian Bartle BA Ed (Hons) NPQH Information of School Closure from Monday 23rd March 2020 Friday 20th March 2020 Dear Parent / Carer, As you are already aware all schools will be closed to most pupils from Monday 23rd March 2020. This will sadly include Sherborne Primary School. From Monday 23rd March 2020 the school will only be open to children whose parents / carers are classed as ‘Key Workers’ or vulnerable pupils (this again, is only in an emergency as the best and safest place is for our children to be at home to reduce the spread of this disease). If we have not contacted your family directly, please do not send your child/ren into school until further notice. Sadly this will also mean that SCAPA will also be closed from Monday and will also not operate as usual across the Easter Holidays. ALL bookings for SCAPA will be credited on your account as no-one will lose any funds (SCAPA will be operating for our key worker & vulnerable pupil group across Easter). Free School Meals (to families eligible for this service / NOT the Universal Free School Meals for Year R to Year 2): A separate communication has been sent to all of these families to ensure you will access the meals as usual. Communication from your Teacher: All of our teachers, teaching assistants and support staff will be continuing to work (if they are not self-isolating / within the named vulnerable health group), supervising the pupils within the Key Workers / Vulnerable Pupils Group. We have set-up a rota system whereby our teachers will be contacting our children / families at home every other week to check in with them, issue work and ensure everyone is well (this will be the week when they are not directly supervising the children left at school; as above). Finally and most importantly, can I take this opportunity to wish all your families our love from the team at Sherborne Primary. I have been overwhelmed by the huge support, encouraging and kind messages from so many of you. Please remember we are all still here for our community and cannot wait until the time comes (and it will) when we are open again and get back to being with our lovely children again!
