Week 9 Dear Year 4 Please see the work for Week 9 in this PDF. There is no expectation to print the work. Do try and complete it on paper at home or enjoy the online quizzes where available. There are links for you to click. These will take you quickly to work we have set. We have included the Maths worksheets. You can choose which activities best suit you. Learn by Heart Facts : Measures MEASURES • Know distance conversions - 10mm=1cm, 100cm=1m, 1,000m =1km. • Know mass conversions–
1,000g =1kg.
• Know capacity conversions – 1,000ml=1l. • Know that there are 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week, 52 weeks in a year and 12 months in a year.

Story starter! The majestic creature glided gracefully through the perfect, azure waters. Its size and beautiful colours stood out in stark contrast to the murky, grey ocean floor beneath. Many other creatures that dwelt under the sea looked on with envy at the unusual and startlingly bright colours that its appearance possessed‌ Can you continue the description? Check out the sentence challenge for a bit of help!

Big Write (write over the week) Sentence challenge! Can you make a list of nouns that you can see in the picture? E.g. Eyes, fins, ocean. Can you make a list adjectives to describe each of your nouns? Can you now write a paragraph describing the fish in great detail? Top tip: Try to think of synonyms for ‘blue’. A Google search or thesaurus might help!

Big Write (write over the week) Sick sentences! These sentences are ‘sick’ and need help to get better. Can you help? The fish swam through the water. It had eyes and a pattern on its skin. Its mouth opened and closed as it flapped its fins. The seabed underneath. Add the new and improved sentences to create a new paragraph carrying on from yesterday's work. Focus on where your fish lives and what it looks and feels like.
