CONCEPT

Menti strives to promote balance in the health and wellness community. This mission statement is demonstrated in the space through a combination of open, collaborative, and private work areas. Design elements promoting creativity such as asymmetrical, custom pieces are balanced with straight lines and e xposed ceilings.

NOURISHMENT •Provide customers with the best possible blend of the highest quality nutrients prepared to optimize health. •Allot design elements that promote employee motivation and success while reminding them of the company mission.

AUTHENTICIT Y •Give customers easy access to each ing redient used in the products, as well as research backed infor mation that will inspire their health jour ney. •Assure that wall decor and custom te xtiles represent the quality nutrients used in products.

CONCEPT

HEMINGWAY Hemingway is a space designed for American veterans transitioning from the militar y to civilian life. The conceptual design stems from the three for ms of water and the cleansing and healing they provide. The schematic design is largely based on the concept of social sustainability and assuring safety and health.

CONCEPT

The 1970s paved the way for a new design aesthetic, freedom in fashion, and e xpression in music that created g round-breaking cultural change. Within that era, change arose and a revolution of self-e xpression, personal rights, and many different genres of music were bor n. Located in Santa Monica, Califor nia, The Ace Hotel embodies the unique flare that the ‘70s era launched. Each space showcases a different musical artist from that decade through mid centur y moder n style and vibrant colors.

View 1: The main portion of the restaurant was designed with deep jewel tones, metallic gold accents, and a captivating light fixture to seamlessly transfor m Diana Ross’s and Cher’s iconic styles into a beautiful architectural display. 43


View 2: The restaurant bar carries on the deep jewel tones found in the main dining area while using lighter accents and unifor m pendant lighting to offset the area from the rest of the space. Frosed glass highlights the portraits of Cher and Diana Ross. 44

View 1: Dreamy pastels, gold finishes, and feather y light fixtures make up the breakfast bar designed to give guests an e xperience embodying the fun-loving, feminine style of Dolly Parton. 45

The corridor was designed with deep blue wainscotting to help with navigation, as well as custom door panels and black and white photos of the Jackson 5.

CONCEPT

Inspired by apothecaries and the benefits of Earth’s natural elements, Ava is a primar y healthcare clinic that blends moder n scientific knowledge with traditional and natural for ms of medicine. While valuing being proactive and aiding in patients’ overall wellness, Ava recognizes research that indicates patients’ desires to have g reater input and control over their healthcare, and encourages incorporating natural based alter natives where appropriate.

PATIENT CHOICE The ability to have control in certain aspects of one’s e xperience within a healthcare environment is desired among most patients.

POSITIVE DISTRACTION Environmental distractions for the patient are important in providing a positive e xperience by relieving patients’ minds of medical treatment.

BIOPHILIC DESIGN The design integ rates a soft, nature filled environment in the urban setting of Chicago, and is influenced by the natural elements of the Earth.
