Jacquie Clarke
About Me Hello, I’m Jacquie, a Certified Interior Designer and Licensed Architect located in Chicago, bringing over a decade of diverse professional experience. My expertise lies in Architecture and Interior Design, particularly in the realms of senior living and affordable multi-family projects, where I’ve dedicated the last nine years. Over the past four years, I’ve been instrumental in the development and growth of an Interior Design studio within my firm. My passion revolves around creating comprehensive and sustainable designs, with a particular focus on ensuring accessibility. Beyond the realm of design, I find joy in family moments, cherishing time with my husband and our delightful 2-year-old daughter. My interests include traveling, cooking, and reading. In my downtime, I like to explore my artistic side through various mediums, including painting, photography, and crafting. By carefully cultivating a meaningful balance between work and personal life, I discover that I can positively influence both my career and personal endeavors.

Lofts On The Square Converting an abandoned and historic landmarked hotel into affordable apartments near St. Louis, played a part in revitalizing a downtown while allowing the building to maintain its historic charm and provide modern facilities. The project contains 47 apartments and a variety of common spaces. What makes it really stand out is the use of traditional materials in combination with contemporary, saturated colors in strategic locations. Clark Estes Apartments An urban infill, transit oriented development that turned a vacant lot into a 4-story mixed use building offering 54 affordable family apartment units, administrative space, two ground floor commercial units, and an integrated parking structure. What makes this project truly unique are a series of murals painted by a local artist around the circulation core of the building running from the ground floor of the apartment lobby to the top floor of units. On top of that, a lush semi-private courtyard creates an oasis for residents off a major urban thoroughfare. Ravenswood Senior Living This project was the first of its kind in Illinois, combining the financing structure for an affordable assisted senior living project with a market rate independent senior living facility. The shear size of the building, in combination with the strict program requirements pertaining to the financing structure presented countless challenges. One of which was the deep floor plates that eliminated access to natural air and light to almost every common space. The lack of windows also presented a challenge for intuitive wayfinding which was overcome by the use of color and intentional material transitions throughout each floor. BEDS Plus Service Center The transformation of a disused bank into a service center catering to medically vulnerable and houseless individuals of South Suburb Cook County has enabled the client to offer semi-permanent housing for 23 people. The facility not only provides shelter and stability, but also delivers essential behavioral and social support services, along with hosting an on-site medical clinic. The project presented various challenges, including the conversion of a basement without direct outdoor access into a comfortable and inviting space. Another aspect involved designing a gender-neutral restroom to adapt to fluctuations in the population at any given time. Additionally, the intentional use of 100% donated finish materials not only addressed these challenges but also contributed to a costeffective and purposeful design. Silver Birch Of Terre Haute This initiative involved crafting a distinctive brand identity for our client, aimed at achieving a consistent aesthetic across multiple properties in Indiana. The architectural aspect posed challenges, as site constraints led to the development of a T-shaped building design, resulting in elongated corridors. To address this, strategic placement of community spaces became essential to anchor each residential wing. With an abundance of communal areas, the project prioritized strategic Interior Design interventions and meticulous application of finishes. This approach played a pivotal role in delineating each space, ensuring a unique and standalone identity for every area within the building.
