About Joakim When Joakim is painting it´s intense and fast with many layers and different techniques, often on several paintings parallel. He works on canvas with palette knife, brushes and even his fingers to get the right feeling. The paintings have an abstract approach to the running of the urban environment and nature with a sense of interwoven dystopian motifs. Joakim has his
studio at Platform Stockholm (an artist driven collective) in Liljeholmen, Stockholm, Sweden. Colors and motifs retrieved unconsciously from what he sees around him. He finds great inspiration in movies, music as well as other artists such as William Turner, Gerhard Richter, Basquiat and Zao Wou-Ki. When he is not painting, he works as a freelancer with layout and image processing.
