The barrio of Santa Teresa was inicially a convent founded in the XVIII century. But the Rio de Janeiro expansion was happening towards it’s hills, and mansions inspired by the french and portuguese arquitecture rapidly took over the whole area. The wealthy and influential families established there guided the country from it’s saloons. Rio was, after all, the capital of Brazil untill 1964.
Santa Teresa is now a charming destination in the most beautiful city in the world, and is thriving with artists and intellectuals from all parts of the globe. Most of these incredible houses are still intact and inspire it’s citizens and travellers. We fell in love with one of them and chose it for it’s tradition and charming arquitecture to portray our new collection. It has, after all, brazilian flavour.
