hello!

This portfolio contains selected projects i had a pleasure to work on from the years 2016-2021 During that time i had a chace to work for some biggest architectural offices: OMA in Rotterdam BIG in Copenhagen EPR Architects in Wrocław & APA WOJCIECHOWSKI in Warsaw. The most important thing for me is self development. I am a hard working person, perfectionist with great ambition and responsibility for own work. I have always been fascinated by architectural theory and the conceptual phase of any project type. I am passionate about graphics, illustration, installation art, interiors, stage design, 3d printing and physical modelling and have developed my own poster brand. I would expect a variety of activities and projects. In an ideal option I would like to deepen my technical knowledge but also design the whole architectural object: from early conceptual phases through schematic design to design development. I am experienced in working on a large scale projects where team communication is a key element.

4. HARD WORKING I always try to develop my skills by taking part in workshops or competitions and I am happy to pick up some creative work when its happening 5. HOPELESS ROMANTIC always hoping to get a chance to become a memeber of an awesome design team.

.

3. EAGER TO LEARN Architecture as a profession is a truly demanding discipline which leads me to constant self development. That is why in the last months i have been developing my skills in interior design projects on my own. I have also done some graphical/illustration commisions to keep myself up to date while developing complex details in revit.

cv

2. QUICK LEARNER Changing the work envirionment helped me gaining the expierience in several design softwares. I have worked on some complex residential projects in revit and modelled crazy schemes as panda house in rhino. What is more I’m definitely a multi-tasking person and I would prefer diversity of tasks in my future workplace. I gladly deal with both large architectural projects as well as interiors, art installations and graphics.

St William (client) has submitted a hybrid planning application to the London Borough of Tower Hamlets for a residential-led mixed-use development on Leven Road Gasworks, Poplar. The proposals comprise up to 2,800 private and affordable homes, commercial space, a new riverside park, access to the River Lea and a new secondary school. The development will be constructed in four residential phases (Phase 1 – 4), plus a park phase and school phase. I have been in this specific project since the very beggining. I started from planning permission, successively with a design team I went through the stage of post-planning changes. My work covered both interior and exterior areas. The basements (early stage of the project), private and social apartment design (coordination with consultants, using the knowledge of British Housing, Part M, K etc.+ I have covered some of the details in 1:5 scale). For a few months I took care of the superstructure: first facade package and then roof package drawings. All details presented on the pages below were part of my own work. Schematic design/detail design phases. Responsibility for Phase I including : - facade, roof, dryliling, RCP, residential entrances, basement, kitchen, bathroom pods, metalwork, finishes&drylining, joinery, superstructure packages - apartment layouts, commercial areas, - space planning - facade, structure, layouts studies - revised plans, sections, elevations. - diagrams, graphics, - all drawings&details&model produced in Revit. KINDERGARTEN

“Don’t control them. Don’t protect them too much. They need to tumble sometimes. They need to get injured. That makes them learn how to live in this world.” Tahakaru Tezuka Kindergarten focuses on architectural design issues as well as safety and coexisting with nature. The basic idea of the project was to design the environment that creates great opportunities for child development, which, in addition to the aesthetic and functional character, is a place to experience strong communication stimuli, coming from direct work with older kids and adults. Main aspect of the place is to support intellectual, artistic, individual development of a child.

Farming the city in pink

How do you imagine a factory in your own city that can help to improve the quality of the food in the closest area? In February 2018 Wroclaw become number one on the list of the most polluted cities in Europe. If we are afraid of leaving the house these days, maybe we should grow vegetables and fruits in the same safe conditions?

.

Questioning the future

Finding answers Referring to the history of the district, the object was located in the area where grains were once stored. This plot has been the main food supplier for the city for years. Currently, there is a purchase of scrap metal, which presence in such a picturesque landscape is not justified. The district required revitalization and restoration of natural balance. We are located close to the city center next to the newly built residential districts and the old riverbed. This river becomes the main source of transporting goods. Around the water, a central, green point is formed, which creates the form of a hybrid building, which combines the cultivation of fruit fish and vegetables with apartments, offices, a conference area and an urban market program.

Vertical Farm .

Human desire Land is an important natural resource necessary for the survival of humanity and for the maintenance of all ecosystems. During the millennia, one can notice the humanity’s striving to use the resources of space mainly for own needs and own production. The potential productivity of land depends on the management strategies. The increasing number of population in a given area increases the demand for production, which in turn may lead to soil degradation. The intensification of industrialization and urbanization is progressing, the cities are growing, which in a consequence generates a shortage of agricultural crops and makes it impossible to produce the necessary amount of food. In addition, cities absorb agricultural land. For example from 1987 to 1992 China was losing about one million hectares of land each year for cultivation as a result of industry development. A phenomenon directly related to the reduction of space resources is the growing urbanization process. Agriculture has become less profitable and many farmers are migrating from rural to urban areas. In 1900, only 13% of the population lived in urban agglomerations. In the middle of the 20th century, this number increased to 29%. Statistics for 2030 show that the percentage of people living in the city can reach up to 60%. The influx of people moving to cities determines the so-called a demographic explosion. The need of satisfying such basic human need which is to provide food is increasing. To feed the residents of London, you need a plot of land across Sweden.

.

university work

.

Why in Poland? Agricultural production is carried out on almost 60% of the country’s territory and uses over 50% of atmospheric precipitation. A significant part of this activity takes place in areas covered by various forms of protection or showing unfavorable conditions for agricultural production. This creates a number of restrictions for the intensification of agriculture. For the Dolnośląskie voivodship, these difficulties occupy 44.5% for difficulties resulting from natural conditions and 43.9% for difficulties resulting from the established protection zones of forests of agricultural land in the voivodship, which means that almost half of crops are located in areas that are unfavorable to them. The conclusion that arises is one: agricultural areas are taken away due to the process of urbanization of Polish cities. In addition, 50% of them can not talk about the practice of intensive farming. An additional source of food is needed. Answer to the city’s needs

Independent, self-sufficient tower of a vertical farm in the center, integrated with tanks to the sales outlets located on the ground floor, it can not only contribute to such important environmental protection today, but also to increase public awareness.

.

Producing crops locally in the city center reduces fuel consumption needed for delivery, eliminates the problem of storing and artificially preserving food and contributes to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere. Controlled environment, always ideal temperature and humidity, eliminate the necessity use of pesticides and chemicals that have an adverse effect on the environment. Additionally, freshly produced, fresh organic food is healthier and tastier.

Vertical Farm

Due to limited surface resources, vertical farms are a reasonable alternative to traditional agriculture. It is estimated that one farm located on a plot of 1 ha can replace from 10-100 conventional farms with the same area. Cultivation in vertical farms is also burdened with low investment risk due to easier control of climatic conditions.

.

In many countries, agriculture is the most serious cause of pollution environment. The use of pesticides, fertilizers and other chemicals within the past years have increased significantly (for example – within 50 years the use of pesticides for spraying arable land has increased 26 times).

Towers

In our concept, the designed art pavilion creates unattainable impressions for an average passer-by: peace and trance, during which one can experience aesthetical and sensual experiences. The stimulation of all the senses is possible when users are crossing the border between park and pavilion and then also during the visit in the intimate spaces created in high towers.

.

university work

.

The city is treated as a profane, and the pavilion as a sacrum, in which spacetime is disappearing, and time seems to go slower. The installation located in the central part of the park consists of a group of thirteen towers of varied cross-sections. In the south-eastern part of the site there are three towers designed to create an impression of the art exhibition. The central tower with a staircase allows you to admire selected and cropped images placed in two adjacent towers. As a result, the pavilion becomes not only art itself, as a cohesive object-installation, it is also a place designed to receive and display art from outside. The pavilion can become a perfect background for other works - paintings or photographic exhibitions. External walls of three adjacent towers are covered with special moss, which main task is to purify the air, while interiors of the pavilions remain completely white. This is an answer to the contemporary problem of smog in cities - purification in the pavilion consists of two stages: first stage is physical (moss) and then the next one is spiritual (sacrum). The simple form of the pavilion can become a background for landmark Warsaw buildings such as the Palace of Culture and Science and for surrounding trees, emphasizing their importance in the city.

Hashima The images of the disappearing

The city is a complex and heterogeneous unit. The relationship between a man and the past, present and future creates the identity of the city and its structure. When human community disappears, the city becomes a sign of human history, tradition. The city becomes a witness of its own disappearance.

.

master thesis

.

The project aims to create the infrastructure necessary to visit the Hashima City Museum. A man wandering around the island is able to get familiar with the history of the place, observe its disappearance. Selected fragments of the city are here called the Images. Man is guided from the Image to the Image, in-between which he has the chance to question the legitimacy of certain events. These questions are here called the Filters. The intersecting grid of the Images points and the Filters points determines the path. Time provokes architecture to decay, disappear and thus the picture changes. The selection of images is subjective. It is the result of long time research. The choice of images does not limit the man in finding and building his own images of the place. Selected views from the Hashima island, allowing the observer to discover the truth about the place and history. The observer is guided from Image to Image, which form a sightseeing path and at the same time set the points grid - elements of the Museum exhibition. Due to the disappearance of architectural matter and vegetation overgrown, the images change in time. It is possible to view images from different perspectives. The selection of the presented images is subjective. It is the result of long time research about important objects on the island and the life of it’s past habitants. The presented selection does not limit in finding and building observer’s own images of the place.

FILTERS

The observer is led from image to image, in-between which he has the chance to question the legitimacy of certain events. These questions were translated to architectural language and were presented as a collection of various spaces. ‘Filters ‘ form the second layer of grid points.

| Filter E | Souvenirs | In 1974, Mitshubishi decided to close down the Hashima coal mine. In 12 weeks, one of the most densely populated places in the world, got completely deserted, and became a witness of the proces of decay – the disappearing architecture of the XX century. “Ghost Town.” Till now, a man can find the souvenirs from the period of the island’s activity, mainly objects of everyday life: ceramics, furniture, fabrics, posters. The pavilion E shape reflects the outline of the island. The man comes in the space, where the floor reveals the projection of the island in a scale 1:300. Extruded buildings from the plan are forming a spatial structures of exposure for items found on the island. |

| Filter C | Maze The island as an architectural entity raises many important questions regarding the humanization of public space. In 1959, the number of inhabitants of the island reached 5 259 people. The island become one of the most densely populated places in the world. To illustrate this number and at the same time to trace the traces of every inhabitant of the island, an installation in shape of a labyrinth was designed. Every resident of the island appears as a light point on the wall of the corridor. Following the labyrinth man realizes how many traces of former inhabitants he has to deal with. Man delves into the maze. The height of the walls decreases to allow, in the final phase of exploration, to see all the light points together. |

| Filter F | Living unit A typical apartment for a mine worker and his family was only 9,9 sqm. According to Japanese tradition, this area was convertible into six tatami mats, which can be seen in the floor panels division. This space called a day zone - the main element of the equipment was a TV set and a place to brew tea. The room was usually inhabited by 6 people (three generations). The space of the room was separated from the main corridor by a small space in form of a vestibule - a bath and a drying room. * the number of TV sets per one inhabitant on Hashima Island was the highest in the world. |

.

| Filter B | Observatory When the first inhabitants appeared on the island in 1887, Hashima was shaped as a natural uplift of the ocean, covered with vegetation. During the intense period of human expansion, the natural environment on the island was degraded by dense buildings and omnipresent concrete. The only element that overcomes time is nature - gradually covering all evidence of human activity. In addition, life on the island was closely related to constant staying in society. There is no place here where a man would experience a natural isolation. In a symbolic way, the circle refers to the infinity and flow of natural processes. |

hashima island

| Filter D | Tunnel During the Second World War, Korean prisoners were brought to the island. They were forced to work in the mine in a three-shift system for 12 hours a day, going down in tunnels to a depth up to 1000 meters below sea level, where the temperature reached 50 degrees. In the narrow corridors they spent most of their time on the island. They got inadequate food rations and lived in 7 people in quarters of less than 10 meters. Some of them (about 130 people from 600) died of exhaustion or, in the act of infirmity, decided to commit suicide by jumping into the sea. Going inside the tunnel, the man has a chance to get familiar with the full history of the island, which currently seems to be forgotten. Tunnel walls are fitted with the lights. Every light is a sign of a victim that lost it’s life to the island. /

.

| Filter A | Chapel 1. Dotokou is a Japanese who returns to Hashima to visit his old home in which he grew up as a child. He goes to a family home where he finds old souvenirs like mother’s tea mugs. For people like Dotokou, the island is a place that brings back memories, a place of reflection about the history and past. In his ritual Dotokou comes back every year to lay flowers in memory of his family members. 2. In 1921, a two-storey building no. 23 was constructed. It was a wooden structure inhabited by teachers. It was also the only place where there was a city chapel with rooms for meditation. Currently, this object is in total ruin, but the sculpture from the Sempukuji temple has been preserved to this day. Moved to one of the filter rooms creates a new space for meditation that a man can visit and remember former residents. Both facts were combined to create a new chapel. Now here, the former residents can come back and pray for their families, lay flowers in the memory od the past. |
