Appendix – Source text Translate into Chinese the following extract from an interview of Frida Giannini, Creative Director of Gucci: Q: Gucci has been undergoing massive reform since left the house in 2003. You are now the person in charge of womenswear, menswear and accessories, just as Tom Ford was in Gucci a few years ago. How do you feel about this new challenge? Are you happy with the way your career has developed? A: I am aware of the huge responsibility that this role brings. However, I prefer not to be put side by side with Tom, because, as I’ve said in the past, we are two different people. I do not wish to be obsessed with these comparisons; instead I’d rather focus on the job. My goal is to keep Gucci at the forefront of fashion. I am flattered to be given this responsibility. Q: Your co-workers once described you as a lady with “a volcano of ideas, a hard worker and unafraid of challenges,” It seems that you are a superwoman in your field. How do you cope with your pressure in job? A: In general, I thrive on pressure; it gives me an adrenaline rush. I am very focused on anything that I do, and I also make sure my life is balanced. I cook dinner at home regularly, and I enjoy quality time with my husband, our dog, and friends. Q: What are the important considerations in your design? A: To keep historical elements of Gucci alive while making the pieces modern. It is my challenge to perceive what clients will crave for, to make desirable things. Q: What is success for you? A: I think that one of the biggest satisfactions a designer can have is seeing stylish people in the streets all over the world wearing things he or she has created. However, the judgment of an insider is equally important, because an authoritative opinion on your work can teach you something.
