Do you know about comment marketing and how effective it can be?
Have you ever read a comment on a blog, video or article and really liked what the person had to share and thus clicked on their picture and or a link they shared or googled the company they shared? Have you ever commented on another persons content and received a huge positive response of gratitude from the author? Well I'm here to tell you that "Comment marketing" is actually a strategy. It has become quite an important marketing strategy for many small and big business owners and it has huge advantages which include 1)bringing you referral traffic 2)off-page SEO benefits otherwise known as backlins 3)real-interactions with like minded people that can lead to amazingly mutual beneficial collaborations. So the question is, how do you do it right and when should you do it? Well, in this blog post, I'll share my brief thoughts about that.
How To Write Comment ? Before you start writing your comment, ask yourself, "how can I genuinely add value to this content"? That's the bottom line, for your comments to have a positive impact on your business they must add value! 2) Share additional points or more details on a critical point on a point missed or covered light by the blog owner 3)Leave a link to your own article which closely matches and or adds more valuable insight to the discussion or content 4) Simply ask or answer a question 5) Typically when you leave a comment, you have to register and leave your name and email. Consider what name you would like to show or your comments in that venue for your maximum benefit. Most of the time you are also given the option to leave your website URL.
When To Write Comment ? The basic theory here is that you want to write a comment when the comment is going to be highly visible. So for example if there are already tons of comments and your comment is going to end up at the bottom of the fourth page, that is a sub optimal situation. Ideally you want your comment to be visible and close to the end of the content (video, article or blog post). Aside from that, you really only want to be investing pockets of your time here so you want to not only focus on your comment being visible but also you want to do a little research and focus on high traffic blogs/content. This can allow you to easily capture new followers/regular readers for your content particularly if you solved a problem. Be mindful though to respect comment rules so for example many bloggers don't allow to have keywords in comment url or affiliate links. Where to comment? As alluded above you want to ideally be commenting on high traffic content/ influencers content. Specifically here are some other key guides 1) Target content that is related to your where your target audience hangs out. So far example if you blog and or indirectly market portable games then you may wish to comment on game blogs and also travel blogs or camping related blogs. 2) Periodically research and look for emerging voices that you want to interact. You may start this and find several blogs that you love and may be tempted to just stick with those, which is fine. However, there is value to spend 5 mins or so ever so often to check the radar for emerging voices/communities that you may wish to be visible in. Remember, the internet is always evolving and it pays to stay ahead or aware of the curve. 3) Think outside the box in terms of where you comment, it could be a youtube video, a facebook post, in forums, blog posts, news paper articles, virtual networking events. Really consider where your target audience hangs out and the related tools that they use to get guidance/content and see if their is opportunity for you to add value by sharing your story or comment there.
Okay now to wrap it up, one final point Online marketing is far from an instant gold rush so BE PATIENT! To truly get the longterm results it requires consistency and a responsiveness also to change based on your MONITORING how it's working. As far as I'm concerned I would change the words "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" to "Nothing measured, nothing gained."

So, what if you just invested 15-20 minutes a day, google content around topics that you have written or ďŹ lmed excellent content on and ďŹ nd other content to share your views and link to your content to daily? Think of the compounding results? Backlinks, visibility of your name and being consistently associated with adding value, possibly creating collaborations with other content creators.... What's your verdict? Here is mine:
