What Makes Key Club Unique? Key Club is the largest high school service organization in the world, but what makes it so special and what enables it to continue to grow? It can’t be the ability to volunteer because no matter where you go, you can find a way to give back to your community. You can even volunteer globally through UNICEF, Rustic Pathways, and other worldwide organizations. What makes Key Club is different from every other organization out there is the tight-knit community that it creates between people who live on opposite sides of a city, a state, a nation, or the world. To fully seize the opportunities that Key Club provides high school students, it’s important for everyone to be involved with their divisions, their district, and international. You can get involved with Key Club International by attending Key Club events, joining social media sites that are created to link together Key Clubbers from all over the world, and talking to your district leaders! In terms of the division, your Lieutenant Governor should be having Divisional Council Meetings every so often in order to bring the entire division together. Your division is composed of the schools around you that have Key Clubs. At these meetings, take advantage of the close distance between you and the other Key Clubbers in attendance. Arrange meet-ups, socials, and joint volunteer projects to increase your impact on your community and meet people who you otherwise would have not had the chance to meet! In terms of your district, the Pacific Northwest District is composed of all of the Key Clubs in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon, as well as some of the clubs in western Idaho, northern California, and Canada. There are rallies in the summer for all Key Clubbers in a specific region to attend and meet new people. At these rallies, you’re bound to have an amazing time while also learning about Key Club International through educational forums. Each year, PNW also hosts District Convention: an exciting weekend in which Key Clubbers from all over the district unite to celebrate the end of a wonderful year of service and prepare for the next one. If you have the chance to attend District Convention, I highly recommend it!
Yours in service, Roshni Chandwani International Trustee Roshni.chandwani.kc@gmail.com
Message from the LTG Hiya Key Clubbers! This past month was exciting yet busy with AP tests, IB tests, SAT’s, and everything in between. Although it may have been stressful, just remember: It’s almost SUMMER! The school year may be winding down but this summer is jam packed with opportunities to serve, and participate in Key Club activities. Starting off with the Portland Area Rally! I sincerely hope many of you are able to make it! (Make sure to check out pages 11-13 to learn more) I really enjoyed visiting all of your clubs this past month. You are all fantastic people, with some pretty amazing clubs. I am super excited to continue working with you all this year, and I can’t wait to see what else is in store! Aside from the Portland Rally, there are also quite a few upcoming events in July and August to attend as well. Currently my July DCM is scheduled for July 25th, and my August DCM for August 16th. July’s DCM will most likely be full of food, fun, and….karaoke! August will be a service project DCM! We will be heading out to Ridgefield WA for a colorful blast at the annual Color Vibe! Be prepared to get covered in color, all while serving your community! I will also be sending updates throughout the summer on other service opportunities that will be available. Although the school year may be ending, there's always a need for service! Lastly, don’t forget to check out PAGE 10 to learn about my upcoming JUNE DCM! If you are an officer, planning on attending Portland Rally, or like to eat FOOD make sure to be there! In Loving Service, Jocylin Binkier Lieutenant Governor Div. 45

I'm really ecstatic to be on the board and ready to put on the best DCON ever! I'm a runner and I love listening to music! Most of my free time is spent on going to all of my home key club's service projects..because, well...Key Club is life! My favorite color is aquamarine and I'm super random and charismatic with most anything! I look forward to becoming best friends with all of you Key Clubbers! Agapé!
Ryan Miura-Convention Aide Division 66 Email: ryanmiura0241@gmail.com Hello PNW! I’m Ryan Miura and I’m one of your Convention Aides this year who will help plan the 66th annual District Convention. Key Club has had a huge impact on who I am, and I hope I can continue to grow and learn from my experiences as a part of the K-Family. I love trees, cats, and meeting my fellow PNW Key Clubbers so holla at me if you happen to see me and want to talk! I’m pumped to represent the most loving and spirited division around, Division 66, so let’s work together to have a great year of service! Anav Gagneja– Communications Director Division 44 Email: anavgagneja@gmail.com Stumbling into that first key club meeting as a confused sophomore was undoubtedly one of the best decisions I've ever made - one that has led to a myriad of amazing encounters, countless hours of devoted service, and an innumerable amount of life-shaping experiences. I'm so excited to be able to give back to this club which has provided me with so much! On the off chance that I'm not busy pouring my heart into Key Club, I'm probably enjoying science, friends, or cookie crisp. I truly can't wait for what will surely be the best year ever! \_(ツ)_/¯

Ben Scranage Division 74 Email: ben.scranage74@gmail.com Hey Key Clubbers, we have a single year left. In 2015 The Kiwanis family will turn 100 and The Eliminate Project will come to a close. Maternal /Neonatal tetanus is not waiting for us to act. We must fight quickly and together. Now that I sound like a dictator, I want to make sure you know me! I am Ben Scranage, your 2014-2015 District Projects Director. I want to work with each and every one of your clubs to make sure that the Pacific Northwest reaches their goal of fifty thousand dollars this Key Club Year! I promise you that even though I live in the small town of Harrisburg, Oregon, just outside of Eugene, I will be there for any of your questions at any time of the day. My phone number is (541) 220-0066, and my email is ben.scranage74@gmail.com. Reach out and don't feel like a stranger. Tina Sok Division 34 Email: sok.athena@gmail.com How's it going, Key Clubbers? My name is Athena Sok (but you may also call me Tina) and I have been blessed with the opportunity to be appointed as your K-Family Relations and International Projects Director! I reside in the city of Tacoma and I am a shark of Division 34. I bleed black and gold because I am an incoming senior at Lincoln High School. But enough about me, I am extremely excited to work with the district board this year AND to meet all of you! As your K-Fam/Int. Projects Director, I plan to significantly improve the relationships and communication between Key Club members and the K-Family branches. In this upcoming year, my plans include district wide events that allow Circle K, Kiwanis, and many more K-Family members to join together and share our love for service. These events will be put on in support of our preferred charities which will allow more K-Family members to join our cause! I am looking forward to a fun-filled and fantastic year with you all. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

Introducing Division 45’s Divisional Aide! Hello! I am Katarina Kubiniec, a junior at Prairie High School and a member of PHS's Key Club. I am this year's Divisional Assistant and will be serving all you lovely Owls as Jocylin Binkier's right hand. I have been a Key Clubber since my freshmen year of high school and I was the Public Relations Officer last year. I really enjoyed serving my club and my community by designing posters, keeping my club informed, and reaching out to the community to make a positive impact. My two proudest Key Club moments so far have been revamping my club's tradition of Homeless Awareness Night and helping create a new annual event called Jog for a Hog which we received an award for at DCON. As I step in to this Divisional role, I am looking forward to meeting all of you and am very excited to make this Key Club year great! Outside of my Key Club life, I am a very busy Running Start student and plan on graduating high school with an environmental engineering transfer degree. I play french horn in Prairie's band as well as in the Portland Youth Philharmonic and also play piano. I am on an FTC robotics team and a member of the Cavy Project in 4-H (guinea pigs). In addition to running cross county and competitive figure skating, I enjoy hiking, skiing, water-skiing, and being outdoors.
