Personalities are veiled. One can never be sure a person is what they truly seem. Are they genuine or is there a hidden agenda? They may appear considerate to the eye but hiding beneath the surface is something sinister. This is the untruth. This collection aims to explore the veil between good and evil and the misinterpretation of human personality. Evil has found ways of weaving through goodness in this world. Misleading good people by posing as a trustworthy face or tempting them with their deepest desires. Hiding behind a mask, deceiving the truth. Eventually, the mask will begin to decay, much like bronze when it starts to tarnish, showing it’s true colour of teal. It symbolises the corruption within the human soul.

...cute

This concept explores the eccentric characteristics of Japan’s rich, unique culture. Taking a step back from the common perception of the traditional kimono and Geishas, but rather taking inspiration from the bright neon city lights of Tokyo, the kooky and frankly quite bonkers street style worn by the brave and the drawing styles of Manga and Anime that Japan is also well known for. In addition to all this, including some traditional elements of modern Japanese culture, such as sailor-style school uniforms. The wide range of inspiration used in this collection may seem random but this is all intentional, illustrating the playful, kookiness of Japan’s beautiful culture.

This concept is inspired by my personal fascination of Space and the infinite Universe. The idea of Space completely bewilders me yet at the same time captivates me. The magical glowing colours of the nebulas and galaxies, the marbled patterns of our solar systems planets with their perfect spherical shapes are all so inspiring. Black holes are also another wonder in which I struggle to comprehend. The thought that something could be lost forever in an infinite loop of time is frightening yet so influential to me. It is said that when you really admire something your pupils will dilate. By linking nebulas with the human eye, I can illustrate the wonderment and excitement I feel towards Space and the Universe. The Pupil of the eye signifies the infinite nothingness of Space and the never-ending pit of Black Holes. The eye itself also symbolises the watchful gaze of other intellectual species observing our ways. The extra terrestrial, Aliens.

CRACKS BEGIN TO SHOW This diffusion collection is based on the same themes of my main honours collection, Untruth. It is a collection inspired by the true personality of a person that is hidden behind a false perception or mask. The person may appear to be kind and trustworthy but they may be hiding dark secrets or sinister thoughts that are concealed away behind a friendly face. This collection, as well as the main collection, both use the teal colours found in tarnished bronze and the cracked effect it leaves when it starts to rust over and decay. The teal colours represent the corruption and the bronze/gold represents the purity. This inspiration is symbolic to represent the corruption of something beautiful as it slowly starts to decay into a darker version of itself. The cracks are also symbolic as they could be used to illustrate the cracks or flaws in a person’s personality.

In a world that is rapidly advancing in Artificial Intelligence, Humans must find new ways to adapt and improve the way they train and maintain their well-being in order to stay ahead and not be overruled by the New Humans, a digitally coded race that has the genetic make up of wavelengths, frequencies and digital DNA. These New Humans have the capabilities to overpower the entire world. Humans must adapt their clothing to help them train harder for longer periods of time, giving them the strength they need to take on the new digital race. With the use of smart fabrics, the bodies temperature and body ventilation can all be controlled allowing optimal performance. The human race can in fact, if they push themselves hard enough, become the “New Humans themselves and not the artificial overlords.
