Dr. Vaughn grew up in Homewood and attended the University of Alabama on a Mechanical Engineering Scholarship before attending Medical School at UAB. After graduating in the top of his class, he was voted Outstanding Senior Medical Student. Board Certified in Preventive Medicine, he takes a keen interest in nutrition, vitamins and exercise. He and his wife Sandra have 6 children and live in Inverness. Dr. Vaughn feels that the Golden Rule is the basis for his practice of medicine. “Treat others as you would want to be treated.” Dr. Stevenson graduated from Auburn University in 1971 and from the UAB School of Medicine in 1984, which she financed by making and selling children’s jewelry. After completing residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center, she became board certified in family practice in 1987. She truly loves her patients, often telling them so. She and her husband Robert have three children, two grandchildren and 3 dogs. Her favorite pastime is planning elaborate birthday parties for her grandkids.
