Bridge Structure Workshop: “the Eye Bridge“ Winner of the “the Most Aesthetically Imposing Prize“ and 100 USD Testing Video https://vimeo.com/128034912 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------It is collective effort of Yan Ma, Guowei Zhang and me. Workshop rules: No glue, wood, string and wire only , 10 ft span The aim of the design is to maximize point loading capacity in the center. We used the string to make all tensile members while wood struts for those in compression. The shap of the bridge resembles the moment diagram of its loaded situation. The Bridge RECONFIGURES its shape to accomodate the load applied.
