Site analysis is a preliminary phase of architectural and urban design processes dedicated to the study of the climatic, geographical, historical, legal, and infrastructural context of a specific site

FINAL PROJECT RESOURCES + PROVOCATIONS • Folding: a process that turns a two-dimensional surface into a threedimensional one to produce both surface and structure • Forming: generating parts from a small number of molds or forms • Sectioning: a series of profiles whose edges follow the lines of surface geometry are assembled as serialize and parallel sections to produce both surface and structure • Tessellation: a collection of pieces that fit together without gaps to form a plane or surface

Expanding Space, and Making Place 1

Michael designed this project and took it to our class to explain its section, and functions. he convince us to build it for our final project.

Expanding Space, and Making Place 2

we made it look better, we thought how to make it tie into the ground because the wind is very strong at the location on which we want to built the model.

Expanding Space, and Making Place 3 This is a part of side view that he designed to build. But we were considering which material we can use to build

Expanding Space, and Making Place

This is the front view of design. It means welcome because each edge is handing its hand out.

Traportation: car It was awesome to transfer those Woods from Homedepot to CCSF

Sectioning: nice view and edge

Project processing: Michael is building the project

Sectioning project 1 We are discussing how to measure the degree of the woods

Sectioning Project 2 a series of profiles whose edges follow the lines of surface geometry are assembled as serialize and parallel sections to produce both surface and structure

Material using: 2x4 Flat washers lock washers 3/6 Bolt 6 3/6 Hex Nut Eye Bolt Turnbuckle Cable

force measuring

we use hex nut and 3/6 bolt 6 to tie the different degree of top piece

We use electric saw to cut 2x4 for building our project easily. Michael pays a labor to it.

Measuring

we were groups and measuring was our first work. We measured the degree and marked the line for Michael to cut them with electric saw

Measuring

I was using a tape to measure the distance of the wood

We were in a group and we build the project together. It was a happy day because we achieved to finish our first project already.

We were building the first section part.

Tape is a good measuring for us to used

Each Piece increase by 5 degrees 90 95 100 105 110 115 120 125 130 135

Working process

We were fail to build this piece because we make a mistake in cutting

We were planning to build each piece frist, and then connecting them together after we finished the piece part

We were using eye bolt, turnbuckle, and cable to keep the balance of our project

Summary • Groups and teams allow us to come together and share common ideas, beliefs and experience.
