Learning proper puppy obedience training can lead to a great long lasting relationship with your 'best friend.' Dogs are a great please to be around. They can provide so many valuable thing to your life. They can provide companionship, exercise, and a lot of fun. They can also provide you with a few challenges. One of the biggest challenges for any dog owner is training a new puppy. This can take a lot of time and commitment. You need to be extremely patient. All of this commitment can be extremely rewarding in the end, though. Once you have taken the time to properly train your puppy, you will have a life-long friend and companion. There are several commands that someone starting puppy obedience training for the first time, must know. There very first command that you will want to teach your dog, is obviously their name. This just comes with practice and consistency. Make sure you call their name clearly and make a eye contact. This lets the dog know that you are addressing them. Just stay consistent and they will be responding in no time. The next command that you want to teach is 'sit.' This is the building block for the rest of your training. A lot of people try to get the dog to sit by simply saying the command over and over. This is really not a good approach. Your dog does not speak English and will have no idea what you are saying. A better way, is to physically guide your dog into the sitting position while saying the command 'sit.' This associates the command with the action. Make sure you reward you dog with a treat once they are in the sitting position. This gives them positive reinforcement for their action. Again, like anything else in puppy obedience training, this just takes time and consistency. The next important command is 'come.' This is very important because your dog will not always be on a leash and you will still want to control them when they are off the leash. An easy way to accomplish this is to start with your dog on a leash. Tell your dog to 'sit' and then walk away as far as the leash will allow without pulling the dog. Once away, say the command 'come' while pulling the dog toward you with the leash. After several times of doing this, you should be able to walk a good distance away and use the command, and your dog will come. “This information is brought to you by Kingdom Of Pets at: http://tinyurl.com/yd9kk5u”
