A Background in Advertising Prior to his real estate activities, Fairless was in the advertising industry, rising from a junior project manager position to become the youngest vice-president at his New York-based ad agency before he was 30 years old. But Fairless discovered he wasn’t as passionate about the advertising business as he was about real estate (he owned four single-family homes at the time). He found himself going to real estate seminars, reading books, and seeking out mentorship from successful real estate entrepreneurs. In 2012, Fairless left the advertising business, and over the course of six months, he managed to raise $1,000,000 from private investors to purchase a 168-unit apartment community. This turned out to be his first big break in major real estate investing, and he’s since followed that deal up with many, many others.

Joe Fairless’ Real Estate Lifestyle Fairless believes that real estate is more than just a way to make money; he sees property investment as a way to improve one’s lifestyle, grow personally and give back to local communities. In the Accredited Investor Lifestyle section of his eponymous website — JoeFairless.com — Fairless has dozens of posts aimed at improving mental and physical health, cultivating good habits, and contributing to the community at large. Fairless believes that once a person is free of their financial burdens, they’re able to pursue adventures and outside interests that will help them grow as a person and contribute good to the world.
