TRADITIONAL EVENTS AT CHOATE ROSEMARY HALL

T

here are a series of traditional events that take place during each year of education at Choate Rosemary Hall. These include:

Matriculation Ceremony – taking place at the start of the school year

Cake Race – a 5k cross-country race held on the last day of the autumn term, with cake as the prize

First Hurrah – hosted by sixth-formers for the fifth form, this is the final social event of the school year for the fifth form

Last Hurrah – a reception, dinner and dance as the last social event of the year for those in the sixth form

PARDEN PARTY – THE BOY’S EQUIVALENT OF THE GARDEN PARTY

Incendium – organised at the time sixth formers receive decisions on college applications, with rejection letters being burnt and piñatas printed with college names destroyed

Garden Party – held in the spring term, where girls in the sixth form each invite one faculty member and one fifth form girl and pass on school traditions

Parden Party – the boy’s equivalent of the Garden Party
