The Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art partnered with the University of Salford Art Collection in 2013 with the shared vision of acquiring and co-commissioning Chinese contemporary artworks. The partnership has been instrumental in creating an exceptional art collection that showcases contemporary Chinese art and culture. 2
University of Salford Art Collection
THE UNIVERSITY OF SALFORD ART COLLECTION For more than 50 years the University of Salford has continued to build its art collection. Collected for the benefit of the students and staff at the university, as well as for the public, the collection consists of more than 700 individual items. The collection is housed on the university’s campus, where it is stored and displayed. The university also loans works to national and international galleries and museums.

For more than 50 years the University of Salford has continued to build its art collection.
The collection that has been acquired by the CFCCA and The University of Salford Art Collection has been widely exhibited nationally and internationally, and includes works by both established and emerging Chinese artists. Artists in the collection include Wu ChiTsung, Cao Fei, Chen Hangfeng, Ma Quisha, Li Binyuan and Han Feng, and the collection consists of a broad spectrum of media, including painting, photography, sculpture, installation and video.
