LOVISA SORENSON went from selling her unique, hand-made Scandinavian jewelerry online to her first physical shop right here in Norwich.

To make the transition she comissioned me to take care of her branding & marketing which included getting the shop customer-ready by taking the logo design and painting it up by hand onto the surface of the building. Being able to work both digitally and by hand, this was a great honour to my skillset.

I had a lot of fun working on this project and it even led to a feature on the local EDP news website.

FRIENDS OF THE EARTH recently comissioned me to create a promotional banner for thier upcoming event

‘NORFOLK’S

HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT DAY’

To emphasise the approach of re-usable energy and encourage up-cycling and recycling, FOE aksed for the piece to be handpainted over an existing banner, rather than designing and printing a new object.

It’s great when a client understands the benefits to utilising hand-made capabilities, especially when it directly feeds into their brand identity!

JUNGLE BAR COFFEE

JUNGLE BAR COFFEE is a unique, earthy coffee bar in New Zealand’s capital city of Wellington. Made out of a 1970s Caravan, the Jungle Bar has a permanent fixture within the week caffinating the dedicated locals on their daily route. I was blessed with the opportunity to brand and muralise this beautiful little caravan before the owners sold it on as an entire business package.

I am lucky enough to have the formal training in Graphic Design and the practical know-how and dedication to hand-made skills. This enables me to produce high quality hand made graphic design which crosses over from the real, into digital and back again covering an entire brand package from business cards, to printed banners, poster, stationary and more!

CU-REA-OSITIES

CU-REA-OSITIES is a new age, crystal and wellness shop primarily operating online but with the occassional pop-up and market day around Norfolk.

MIND-AID FESTIVAL

This was a large-scale project to come up with the branding and marketing material for a city-wide art & wellness festival called MIND AID. It was backed by varying sponsors including Wellington City Council & Media Works NZ. Marketing material included largeformat street poster campaing, website, digital social media contend and short docu-film

BRANDING

Another food company I had the pleasure of working with in Australia was ‘Pimped Earth’ - a food company that take a lot of pride and attentiveness in their choice of ingredients. Pimped Earth only use whole ingredients and avoid processed foods at all costs.

After creating a couple of logos for them I was then tasked with applying it to their online marketing and then physically paintung up a few sign boards for them to use around West Australia at different food fairs. You can see their physical set up below, along with the lovely owners Ben & Steph.

RETRO GROVE

Another astonishing branding project was to create the identity and interior design for RETRO GROVE coffee shop in Wellington, New Zealand. These beautifully creative souls poured a lot of time, love and attention into making coffees infused with mushroom extracts, smoothie bowls, vegan savoury treats and other healthy delights that are designed to imbue the consumer with health benefits. I created a kind of electric-medieval, magical aesthetic on this one, with all manner of curious characters hanging out in a darkened woods.

LIL’ TORTILLA BOI

One of my strongest skillsets is my ability to conjure up unique and dynamic branding for a multitude of products and services. One example of this is ‘Lil Tortilla Boi’; a Mexican street food brand from Western Australia. This brand required a very striking set of imagerey that would make it stand out amongst the bustling market that it operated in. It had to appeal fresh & young but still reliable as the food really was delicious and made with love.

THE HIDEOUT

Hand-Painted graphics for a Norwich based night club ‘The Hideout’.

I painted a comic-book esque light to convey a sense of secrecy following on from the name and the rest of their branding.

RISHIKESH NEXT

In 2018 I recieved a comission to re-brand a guesthouse in Rishikesh, India in order to make it a creative arts hub of the city. This rebrand included flyer designs, info graphics, inner & outer wall murals. To date, this three storey guest house is the largest canvas that I’ve had the pleasure of painting.

When I recieved the project it had recieved a little water damage from previous monsoon seasons. This meant that many of the previous paint layers had cracked and flaked away, leaving behind a kind of natural mountainous landscape. While nature took the lead, I followed closely behind with my paint brush.

BRANDING

Lastly I worked alongside ‘Beeges’ microbrewery in West Australia on their Bock range. They required a kind of vintage branding to the beer label as the beer itself is one that hints back to 1970s tasting notes. After crafting a logo I was asked to create a very short media campaign that could be placed in local papers.

TELLIN’ STORIES

Most of my recent work involves taking the skills I have developed graphically and applying them by hand to wall spaces.

This is a very interesting practice and is constatntly expanding my skillset as well as portfolio and job profile. It’s important to continuously challenge oneself and in making large-scale wall paintings I am constantly challenged in how to scale artwork, how to apply artwork to a given surface area and how to best communicate my message with the given space. This particular project was created and then installed for BID Norwich - a company that is backed by local councils to improve tourism in the area of Norfolk. You can see this idea from conception to final application.

BRANDING

Franko Fraize is an enigmatic UK rapper who constantly weaves in and out of musical genres. For a number of years now I’ve worked closely with Franko to establish a brand identity and make sure it is applied across all of his media channels and platforms. Having made a strong, simple typographic logo, I outlined the paramaters by which it can be applied to new and upcoming record covers as well as posters, music videos, web banners etc.

MERCHANDISE

Franko then needed a strong visual identity to be carried across into his merchandise world. So I took his known ‘catch phrase’ from his live shows as he would always ask the crowd for a call and response of ‘Can you give me an Oi Oi?!’ and I expanded it into a strong typographic logo. This we then applied to tshirts, jackets, jerseys, caps stickers etc.

ADMIRAL

Another collaboration with Mauritusborn illustrator & graphic Designer David Rogers. This time we took to illustrating this wonderful vintage Indian car by the banks of the Ganges.

BRANDING PUBLISHING

Maya Law is a female singer songrwiter based in the UK who required a bold but simple typographic logo to be used across her media campaigns. Maya is the kind of sweet, sensitive voice who also packs a punch when it comes to delivering lyrical content. As such I’ve given her a very soft, playful hand made type which is juxtaposed with a very strong, angular type. This logo is now being rolled out across Maya’s media campaigns throughout the year.

Page layout and magazine design is amongst my personal favourite set of projects to work on.

Common Sense magazine is a tongue-in-cheek magazine set on communicating social and political issues of England in it’s current state of identity crisis. Common Sense will soon be released in a small run of prints as well as for online download.
