Gosselin Residence
Lexington, KY
The Gosselin Residence is located on a sloping hill that creates an opportunity for an interesting hardscape. Keeping in mind the needs of the client as well as the obstacles of the topography, a multi-tiered hardscape plan has been created. Various outdoor rooms surrounded by planters give the Gosselins more living space that compliments the architecture of the existing home.

Howards Landing Winery + Bistro
Clark County, KY
Nestled near the palisades in the Kentucky River valley in Clark County, this rural destination exposes visitors to local wines in a beautiful setting. The combination of growing, production, and on-site bistro have carefully been designed within the landscape by taking inventory and analyzing the site for the best suitability in design. The vines have been placed in the best soil type and oriented in accordance with the best environment to reduce disease and increase the probability of a good yield yearto-year. The buildings were designed and sited to blend into the landscape and as to not obstruct the natural beauty of the site.

Brodhead Community
Brodhead, KY
Brodhead, KY, located in south central Kentucky, is in the midst of a citizen driven revitalization of a once thriving community which has slowly lost its charm over the years due to the construction of a bypass detouring visitors to the area around the heart of the community. In hopes of attracting visitors to the small community a bike route has been proposed as a means highlight the areas beautiful landscape. Other bike routes exist in the region but do not pass through Brodhead. These bike paths will create a larger system of routes and draw tourist to the region that may not have visited otherwise. Portions of the trail will utilize an abandoned railroad that once brought visitors through the small historic town.

UK HealthTrac Located on the Coldstream Business Park near the intersection of Newtown Pike and Interstate 75 in Lexington, this site will be used as a hydrotherapy center. With primarily outdoor facilities this design dealt with obstacles from the site since a ridge runs through the center of the site. Parking, main building, and outdoor facilities created much stormwater run-off but all would be maintained on site in the occurrence of a storm with the use of drainage pipes, rain gardens, and retention basins as well as the use of plant material and rock formations to assist in the process. A complete set of construction documents were created for this project including: Base map Site layout Grading and drainage Pipe sizing and layout Dimensioning Lighting design Planting plan Irrigation plan Illustrative plan

Alltech Internship Alltech is a privately owned company that has many properties located all around the world and through the internship with the company I learned much valuable knowledge regarding private business when it comes to projects. The broad variety of sites also called for a variety of different project types including creating a planting plan for a golf course, plant inventory and map creation, as well as going through the process of developing a plan for an industrial site that had unlimited opportunities and no direction prior to the beginning of design development. Task included weekly meetings discussing status of design and new projects put on the table. For each project various design solutions were created with a final selection created from what worked or was liked from each design.

The Lyons Preserve Pavilion was created to garner ideas for a vacant soccer field complex located in an industrial zone of Clark County. Six proposals were presented and this design represents the best qualities from all six proposals that best suited the desires of Alltech and respected the opportunities and constraints of being located in an industrial park. Palisades Master Plan
Kentucky River
The Nature Conservancy internship The Nature Conservancy (TNC) prides itself in preserving beautiful landscapes throughout the world including within the state of Kentucky. My internship with the TNC exposed me to the process of preserving, promoting, and designing these landscapes to showcase them to the public. The main priority was creating maps and a master plan for the Palisades region of the Kentucky River.
Dupree Nature Preserve
Jessamine County Conservation Area
Brown/Crutcher/Wallace Preserves
The Dupree Nature Preserve was the main focus of the internship as it was a recent land grant that did not have the documents needed for a future opening to the public. There was a need to design an entrance drive as well as pavilion area, walking trails (some handicap accessible), and lookout points for day hikers. The documents I created would be used as maps and as a selling point for donors showing what would come of the land and how it could be beneficial to the community and state.
