Baby Be Hip: The Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Colleen Mook I’m sure I’m not the only mom who finds the holiday season to be a bit chaotic. As a mother of four school-age kids and the owner of Baby Be Hip—a personalized baby gift business—I find the month of December a bit frantic. It’s supposed the most wonderful time of the year, but it’s usually just a blur! Once Christmas Eve winds down, however, our orders at Baby Be Hip have all shipped out, our Christmas cards are on their way, we’ve cut down and decorated our tree, and Santa has done all his heavy lifting. Whew! We all go to church on Christmas Eve, which is a wonderful, peaceful moment to finally take a deep breath. And then, on Christmas morning, we stay in our pajamas all day long, turn on some holiday music, eat cinnamon rolls and just enjoy each other’s company. For once we have nowhere to go until dinner, nothing to do, no holiday dinner to prepare and host, and the kids aren’t fighting (you’d think it would stop before Christmas, but alas…). My husband and I drink our coffee and revel in the joy. The hustle and bustle has passed, and it is time to exhale and enjoy each other and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. It’s the best day ever!

I had a big sister from the big sister association. Best Christmas memory is going to her family’s house that has a fireplace. We all sat in front of the fire sipping hot chocolate listening to Christmas music while talking about what Christmas was all about. It was a magical time.

Last Christmas there wasn’t much snow here in Wisconsin. We are a die hard snowboarding family and the lack of snow was making us blue. A few days before Christmas, we decided to drive to the mountains (14 hours). We loaded all the gear without any of the kids knowing and proceeded with our yearly trip to see my parents. On Christmas morning we woke everyone up at 3am and loaded up the car, revealing the snowboards and gear hidden in the car top carrier! It was pretty epic!
